Those little plugs all over the lawn are cores from aeration, and they are one of the most important parts of a proper fall lawn renovation.
When we core-aerate a lawn, the machine physically removes small plugs of soil and turf. That might look a little messy for a few days, but what’s happening underneath is exactly what your lawn needs.
Those openings help:
✅ Relieve compacted soil
✅ Allow more oxygen into the root zone
✅ Improve water movement into the soil
✅ Give nutrients better access to the roots
✅ Create excellent seed-to-soil contact
✅ Give new grass roots room to develop
✅ Encourage deeper, stronger root growth
And those cores?
Leave them alone.
As they break down naturally, they return organic material and soil back into the turf. Before long, they disappear—and the lawn gets the benefit.
But aeration is only one piece of our renovation process.
