I had a customer come in whose mom had passed away and his daughter wanted her grandmother's wicker hamper for its sentimental value. The bottom of the hamper was not connected to it any longer. All the vertical spokes were out of the holes of the base. I tried several ways to get those spokes back into the base and couldn't get them all lined up. Finally I glued all new 3" pieces of round reed into the holes of the base and unwrapped about 4 inches of horizontal weave pieces and reweaved them over the verticals that I placed alongside the original ones and reweaved the pieces back in and added some extra pieces to fill in up to the base. I had to make new hinges for the top and I resewed the inner liner to the wicker.

I have 2 of these chair seats to do. Just finished the first one. The Diamond Herringbone pattern is the same on the top and the bottom of the seat. This is done in size Common Cane. It's so time consuming! These chairs also have back inserts that are the same as the seats, but thankfully, I don't have to do those 😁
