We see a lot of people shop price per square foot looking for the cheapest option, and we get it.

When you’re comparing quotes, it’s natural to look at the bottom line first. The challenge is that not all epoxy floors are created equal.

These are two floors we were recently called to evaluate.

On the right, the coating was peeling and releasing from the concrete after just a few years. It was done by another company that had already been out once since the initial install to repair it and the client was fed up.

In the left, the concrete itself failed, but the coating remained firmly bonded to the surface. The concrete broke before the coating let go.

Those two outcomes aren’t luck. They’re usually the result of differences in preparation, materials, and process.

Before choosing a contractor, ask questions:

• Is the floor being mechanically ground?
• After grinding, is the floor vacuumed and mechanically de-dusted?
• Are cracks and damaged areas being repaired?
• What coating system is being installed?
• How many coats are included?
• What happens if moisture issues are present?

We know we won’t be the lowest-priced option, and that’s okay.

We invest in equipment, materials, and a process designed to create floors that perform long after installation day is over.

The best place to learn isn’t always a classroom.

A lot of our training happens right here in the shop.

Different flake blends. Different installation techniques. Different preparation methods. Different topcoats. We’re constantly creating test boards and sample projects so our team can see firsthand how products perform and how small changes in the process can affect the final result.

It’s one thing to read about epoxy flooring. It’s another to install it, test it, live with it, and understand exactly what happens when corners are cut or when the process is done correctly from start to finish.

These sample boards might not look like much, but they’re part of how we continue to improve our craft and make sure every floor we install meets the standards we’d want in our own homes.

Great results don’t happen by accident. They come from experience, practice, and a commitment to always learning.

Here’s another one of our favorite commercial floors.

If you’ve ever been to Funspot in Laconia, you’ve probably seen the kids’ track where little ones can cruise around on the animal scooters and cars all day long. It’s one of those spaces that sees constant traffic, constant movement, and a whole lot of energy, which made durability a huge priority for this project.

And honestly, seeing something we installed become part of so many family memories is pretty cool.

Projects like this are always fun because they’re not just about the floor itself. They’re about creating spaces people actually enjoy spending time in.

Perfect lines. Beautiful, durable results.

This is the stage where everything starts to come together.

The topcoat locks the system in, protects the flake, and gives the floor that smooth, finished look while adding the durability needed to hold up to daily traffic, equipment, and wear over time.

And when the prep, the details, and the application are all done right, you end up with those crisp lines and clean finishes that completely transform the space.
