How wonderful it is to see this young man smiling after his recent surgery!
Operation Mighty Max

🦺📬 Turns out crew mail is officially part of Max’s recovery plan.

Medicine has become one of his biggest triggers. Every dose is a fight, and lately the only bribe he will accept is:

“If we take all your medicine, then you can open crew mail.”

So these are not just shirts, hats and stickers anymore. They are distraction, motivation and sometimes the only reason we make it through the next dose without everyone completely falling apart. Those moments are sacred.

He is finally eating a little more!! The delirium still comes and goes, especially in the evenings. Sleep still scares him, and even during a good moment he will randomly say, “I want to go home.”

But for a little while, buried under all that high-vis, he was just Max again.

Look at that smile. 🥹🦺💛

To every person and company who has mailed something, thank you. You may have sent a piece of swag, but what reached us was help.

And should another envelope of stickers or package find its way into the crew mail call, just know it will be opened like it contains solid gold. 📦📬😂
