Sometimes one problem leads to another.

This project started with water getting into the garage from a poorly pitched concrete area and an old section of sidewalk that created a serious trip hazard.

Once we began removing the concrete and dismantling the existing deck stairs, we uncovered deteriorated framing that needed attention too.

So we handled it.

Drainage corrected. Problem concrete replaced. Damaged framing addressed. New stairs built. One project with several problems — all taken care of.

That's what experience is for.

What originally looked like a roof leak turned into major structural deterioration once I got on top of the chimney for a closer inspection.
Large cracks, moisture intrusion, failing mortar joints, and years of freeze/thaw damage had caused the structure to start breaking down from the inside out.

This is how water damage actually destroys a porch over time.
What started as minor moisture intrusion turned into full mortar failure, loose brick, and structural breakdown at the base. Once that cycle of water, freezing, and expansion takes over, the damage accelerates fast.
In cases like this, it also creates openings where rodents and pests can get in behind the structure.
This wasn’t a surface repair.
We dismantled it down to the base, rebuilt it properly, and sealed it to stop the problem at its source.
That’s the difference between a patch… and a long-term fix.
