Some moments define the future of an organization. Friday, June 12, 2026, was one of those moments for Paul Jackson & Son.

Before the start of our Annual Company Cookout, our employees and the employees of our subsidiaries gathered together for a milestone that will forever be part of our company’s history.

After serving as President of Paul Jackson & Son since May of 1987, Mr. Paul Jackson officially addressed our team regarding a leadership transition that became effective on June 1, 2026. After nearly five decades of unwavering leadership, he has assumed the role of CEO & Chairman, entrusting the presidency of the company to his son, John Paul Jackson.

For almost half a century, Mr. Paul has poured his life into this company. Countless long days, sleepless nights, difficult decisions, sacrifices, and an unwavering commitment to doing what was right have built far more than a successful construction company—they have built a culture rooted in integrity, servant leadership, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to putting others first. Every decision has been made with the best interests of our employees, clients, and communities at heart.

Founded in 1953, Paul Jackson & Son has always been more than a family business. It is a legacy of stewardship—one generation faithfully preparing the next. As the third generation of the Jackson family, John Paul Jackson now carries that responsibility forward, honoring the foundation that has been laid while leading the company into an exciting new chapter of growth and opportunity.

This transition is not simply a change in title—it is the continuation of a vision that has stood the test of time for more than 70 years.

Above all else, we recognize that every blessing this company has experienced has come from God’s faithfulness. Christ remains the foundation upon which Paul Jackson & Son is built. Our mission has always been greater than constructing buildings; it is about serving others with excellence, honoring God through our work, investing in our employees, and strengthening the communities we are privileged to serve.

This past Friday, June 12, the employees of Paul Jackson & Son and our family of subsidiaries gathered at our headquarters in Brookhaven, Mississippi, for our annual Company Cookout.

This tradition provides an opportunity to step away from the job site and office, spend time together, enjoy great food, strengthen relationships, and celebrate the people who make our company what it is. Employees enjoyed an afternoon of fellowship, received new Paul Jackson & Son merchandise of their choice, and had the opportunity to connect with co-workers from across our organization.

We would like to extend a special thank you to Pot Belly’s for providing an outstanding meal and helping make the day such a success!

Most importantly, & at the heart of all that we do, we would like to recognize our employees. Every project we complete, every client we serve, and every milestone we achieve is made possible because of your dedication, professionalism, and commitment to excellence. Restoring a Legacy. Preserving History. Honoring Excellence.

At Paul Jackson & Son, we believe some buildings are more than structures—they are stories worth preserving.

Originally constructed in 1913, Elizabeth Cottage at the Mississippi School of the Arts in Brookhaven, Mississippi, stands as a treasured Mississippi Landmark and a lasting symbol of craftsmanship, history, and community heritage. What began as routine maintenance quickly evolved into a comprehensive restoration effort as our team uncovered extensive deterioration and moisture-related damage throughout the historic structure.

Through careful planning and historic preservation practices, the project included the reconstruction of the front balcony and rear deck, masonry repairs to the perimeter skirt wall, restoration of all windows and doors, interior plaster repairs, reconstruction of the built-in copper gutter and downspout system, and installation of new HVAC systems with dehumidification controls designed to protect the building for generations to come.

Rather than replacing what could be repaired, every effort was made to preserve the architectural integrity and historic character that make Elizabeth Cottage so special.

We are incredibly honored that this project was recognized by Mississippi Heritage Trust with the Heritage Award of Merit for Rehabilitation. Receiving this award is a testament to the dedication, craftsmanship, and collaboration of everyone involved in bringing this historic landmark back to life.

Accepting the award on behalf of Paul Jackson & Son were our President, John Paul Jackson, and Project Manager, Phillip Douglas.

We are grateful to the Mississippi Heritage Trust for this recognition and proud to play a role in preserving Mississippi’s history—one project at a time.

Improving the passenger experience often begins with the spaces travelers use every day.

Paul Jackson & Son is proud to have successfully completed the first two phases of the public restroom renovation project at Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport.

These upgrades are designed to enhance accessibility, functionality, and overall comfort while maintaining operations within an active airport environment.

✔️ Phase 1 Complete
This phase focused on improving public access to the women’s restroom through the relocation of the TSA security door and installation of a new Dormakaba wall system, creating a more efficient and user-friendly layout while meeting airport operational requirements.

✔️ Phase 2 Complete
The second phase included a complete renovation of the men’s, women’s, and family restrooms on the West Concourse. The upgraded facilities feature:
• New lighting and plumbing fixtures
• Contemporary tile finishes
• Integral sink systems
• Forms+Surfaces Levelé wall panel systems

These enhancements provide a modern appearance, improved functionality, and long-term durability for one of the airport’s highest-traffic areas.

Construction continues as we move into the remaining phases of the project:

• West End Baggage Claim Public Restrooms
• East End Baggage Claim Public Restrooms

At Paul Jackson & Son, we take pride in building and improving infrastructure that keeps our communities moving. One project we are especially proud of is our ongoing partnership with the Jackson Municipal Airport Authority (JMAA) to modernize elevators and escalators throughout the airport. ✈️

Reliable vertical transportation plays a critical role in the daily operation of an airport, and this multi-phase project is designed to enhance accessibility, improve reliability, and create a better experience for the thousands of passengers who travel through the airport each day.

To date, we’ve successfully completed and placed into service:

• 5-Stop West Concourse Elevator
• 7-Stop Tower Operations Elevator
• 2-Stop East Concourse Elevator
• First Bank of New Eco-Mod Escalators

Construction continues on the remaining phases of the project, including:

• 3-Stop Glass-Back Terminal Elevator Modernization
• 2-Stop West Concourse Elevator Modernization
• Second Bank of Eco-Mod Escalators

Completing work of this scale and complexity within an active airport environment requires careful planning, coordination, and teamwork. We are grateful for the partnership and expertise of AECOM and our outstanding trade partners:
