Roger That Garden Project

Roger That Garden Project Cultivating native flora, edibles, and compost in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. RogerThatGardenProject@gm Want to get involved in this green space?

E-mail Roger That Garden Project @ gmail.com! Or Tweet

Our greening project stewards native plants, cultivates shared edibles, and maintains a community compost system. We're always hunting for new volunteers and want you to get involved! Replacing a condemned brownstone, the Crown Heights Youth Collective began clearing the space in 2009. Seeing the opportunity to help, the Ro

ger That team gave it a kick-start in early 2012, and are going strong. By growing everything communally, the project aims to abolish waiting lists and privatized plots in order to create access to nature, gardening, and plant life. Support Roger That in court this Thursday!

Kings County Civil Court
141 Livingston Street Room 603
10AM Calendar Call

We have been fighting for well over two years now, but it is very possible that this Thursday's trial could result in an eviction for the garden. We need to show up en masse so that the court will see the impact of their decision on the community.

Look for the Roger That shirts when you get there!

See us in the NYT today? Got a minute to help save NYC from illegal and harmful real estate interests? Then send an email to these local officials and tell them to protect Roger That Garden using eminent domain! They did it for a bank owned basketball arena, why not a free outdoor learning space that grows free food and community roots? http://rogerthatgardenproject.tumblr.com/post/137414377940/save-roger-that-action-steps

Here's how you can help--2 minutes or less!

Look out for a letter-writing party in the coming weeks to send out letters to our state representatives. In the mean time, we need to show Parks and City Council that Roger That is worth saving!

We are pleased to announce that Rep. Diana Richardson and Senator Willmanette Montgomery have introduced an eminent domain bill to preserve Roger That Garden as a permanent park. We have two major...
