❄️Its that time of year!❄️
REMEMBER: If snow or ice accumulate on your new concrete try your best to avoid ice melting products. First try using a shovel, blower, broom or whatever tools you have to clear things away!

The midwest is classified as an extreme weather environment by the Amercian Concrete Institute, due to concrete’s inherent ability to absorb moisture and its practical inability to flex, in many cases concrete tends to have a rougher go at life in these regions. A crack here or a pit there can be expected, but here are some tips to make your concrete live the longest life possible:

Nothing hurts more than to have salt damage the new concrete! 🥵

Tips:
1. Use shovel or blower first
2. Seal concrete in high traffic areas annually
3. Pressure wash high traffic concrete areas once every year or every other year!
4. Save salt and other ice melting chemicals for emergency use only. Use sparingly. Most commercial spaces have budgeted for concrete repairs at higher intervals compared to homeowners. A homeowner who doesn’t want to replace their concrete often needs to avoid commercial applications like ice melt.
