We are excited to be a part of this!
GSA Career Internships: George Stevens Academy will expand its alternative education offerings this fall with a new, versatile GSA Career Internships program to give students additional opportunities to learn beyond what they study in GSA classrooms.
GSA is partnering with Brooklin Boat Yard; Golden Sun Childcare; John H. Gray Electrical, Plumbing, and Heating, Inc.; Hewes & Company, Inc.; M.E. Astbury & Son, Inc.; Northern Light Blue Hill Hospital; and Stanley Subaru to provide students with job and career-oriented learning experiences.

“I have been genuinely moved by how many businesses are eager to participate in a new program to help students prepare for their futures,” said David Stearns, GSA’s dean of curriculum and instruction, who has been developing this program since last fall.
The businesses involved will generously donate their resources and employee time to mentor these interns, fostering growth, helping prepare skilled workers, and perhaps training the next members of their own workforce families.
Any businesses interested in joining the GSA Career Internships program should contact David Stearns at [email protected] or (207) 374-2808.

GSA Career Internships is one of a number of alternative educational opportunities that George Stevens Academy offers to enable students to pursue their interests. Many students develop their own alternative courses, take college courses for high school credit, or spend half-days at the Hancock County Technical Center. Also, GSA’s Independent Study and Internship Program enables juniors and seniors to explore personal and career interests for two weeks in late winter.
