Hill washing out? Ask us how we can help! ⛰️🧱

A beautiful backyard is worth protecting—and sometimes, that starts beneath the surface.

The elevated pool and patio area at this property was experiencing erosion, with the hillside beginning to wash away. Left unaddressed, this could have led to more serious problems down the road.

Our solution? A two-tier retaining wall system with integrated steps and French drainage behind each wall to help manage water buildup and reduce the risk of future water-related damage.

Because here in Florida, we know the rainy season doesn't exactly take it easy! 🌧️

Here's what went into this project:

🧱 Two-tier retaining walls to help stabilize the hillside and support the elevated landscape.

💧 French drains behind each wall to help collect and redirect water, reducing hydrostatic pressure and helping protect the retaining wall system.

🪜 Integrated steps for a functional, convenient transition from the pool patio to the backyard.

🌿 A vision for what's next — future landscaping on each tier, with the stairs leading to a new paver patio and fire pit area.

What started as a solution to an erosion problem is becoming the foundation for an entirely new outdoor living space.

Because good landscaping isn't just about what you see. It's about building what's behind it, too.

Dealing with a washing-out hillside, slope erosion, or water management issues? BGR Landscapes can help you explore solutions designed for your property and Florida's challenging weather.

📍 Serving Brooksville, Hernando County & surrounding Central Florida communities.

Let's turn that troublesome slope into something worth showing off. 🌿

Why stop at lighting when you can bring the whole backyard to life? ✨🎶
A thoughtfully designed landscape lighting package can completely transform your outdoor space after sunset. But imagine adding high-quality outdoor audio that blends seamlessly into the landscape, too.
An outdoor sound systems is the perfect addition to a BGR Landscapes lighting package, giving you the ability to enjoy your favorite outdoor spaces with both beautiful lighting and beautifully directed sound. This includes an app/bluetooth control.
🔊 Precisely aimed audio
Our speakers feature a 150° pivoting arm, allowing the sound to be directed exactly where you want it. Whether they're mounted on a stake, surface, or even integrated into a tree, the speakers can be positioned to enhance your listening experience while helping minimize sound spilling into areas where you don't want it.
And then there's the bass. 👇
🔊 Bass that blends in
The subwoofer delivers deep, powerful bass while maintaining a discreet presence in the landscape. With flexible installation options—including surface, deck, or ground mounting—it can fit naturally into almost any outdoor space.
The result?
Great lighting. Great sound. One beautifully designed outdoor experience.
Picture it: the landscape illuminated, your favorite music playing, friends gathered around, and the evening just getting started. 🌙✨
That's the kind of outdoor living we love creating at BGR Landscapes.
Ask us about incorporating landscape lighting + outdoor audio into your next project.
Because your backyard shouldn't just look good after dark. It should sound good, too. 😉

🎃Halloweens Coming🎃

🐝Don’t forget about all of your pollinators-small birds this time of year! Consider choosing fabric over the sticky fiber webbing sold at stores for your Halloween decorations this year🦋🌿

As we approach Halloween, it's a great time to consider how our seasonal decorations impact the local environment.

Traditional, store-bought spiderwebs, while festive, are often made of fine, sticky fibers that can act as a net, unintentionally trapping and harming beneficial pollinators like bees and butterflies, as well as small birds.

A simple, wildlife-safe alternative is to use a stretchy, light-colored cloth with holes cut into it. This creates a similar spooky effect without posing a threat to the creatures that are vital to our gardens and ecosystem.

Creating a landscape that is both beautiful and harmonious with nature is at the core of thoughtful garden design. Even small choices in our decor can make a big difference in protecting our local wildlife.

Sometimes, it’s the finishing touch that changes everything. 🪨✨

This backyard was already a beautiful space—but adding a stone fascia wall to the paver patio brought the entire design together.

And because this space was designed to be enjoyed long after the sun goes down, we paid close attention to the lighting placement, positioning the fixtures to provide the right illumination for those nighttime gatherings without taking away from the beauty of the stonework.

The goal wasn't simply to add a wall. It was to make the patio feel like it had always belonged there. With such a beautiful backyard to begin with, these details really tied it all together. Beautiful spaces are built in the details.

*Turn Your Phone Sideways*

What if you could see the differance before making the final decision? 👀🌿

This is a great example of how we use our 3-D landscape designs to help clients visualize their project before installation begins.

For this project, we had already created a 3-D proposal for completely new landscape beds throughout the backyard. As we continued working through the design with the client, they wanted to explore another option:

What would the new beds look like with mulch instead of the existing river rock?

Rather than trying to imagine the difference, we went back into the existing 3-D design and made the adjustment so our client could see the proposed change for themselves.

And that's the beauty of a thoughtful design process.

🌿 New bed layouts
🪨 Different landscape materials
🌱 Plant selections
〰️ Edging and bed lines
✨ Overall balance and flow

All of these details can be explored and refined before installation begins.

Sometimes a small change in material can completely change the feel of a landscape. Giving our clients the opportunity to see those options helps make sure we're not just building a landscape—we're building the landscape they envisioned.

See it. Love it. Build it. 🌿

Light brings it all together. ✨

A landscape shouldn't disappear when the sun goes down.

This installation was designed to look beautiful during the day—but with the right lighting, the landscape takes on an entirely different character at night.

🌿 Plants and architectural features become focal points.
💡 Walkways and gathering areas become more inviting.
✨ Texture, depth, and dimension come alive after dark.

The daytime view shows you the landscape.

The nighttime view shows you what thoughtful lighting can do.

From subtle accents to strategically placed fixtures, landscape lighting isn't just about adding brightness. It's about highlighting the details, creating atmosphere, and allowing you to enjoy the spaces you've invested in long after sunset.

Because a well-designed landscape shouldn't have a closing time. 🌙

The best seat in the house might just be outside. 🔥🍕

This outdoor kitchen was designed to make entertaining outside feel less like an occasion—and more like a way of life.

Tucked beneath a cedar pergola with a galvanized steel roof, this space brings together the warmth of natural wood with the durability and functionality needed for a true outdoor cooking area.

And when we say outdoor kitchen, we mean it.

🔥 5-burner grill with a dedicated searing zone
🍖 Built-in rotisserie with an infrared rear burner
🍕 Traditional fire-brick pizza oven
🥶 Mini refrigerator for keeping drinks and ingredients close
✨ Food-grade stainless steel countertops built for serious outdoor cooking
🗄️ Plenty of built-in storage to keep everything organized and within reach

Every component was selected with function, durability, and entertaining in mind—because an elegant outdoor space should also flow beautifully.

Whether you're grilling dinner, firing up a pizza, or gathering around the table with friends, this isn't just an outdoor kitchen,

It's an extension of the home—and a pretty good reason to stay outside a little longer. 😉

Thinking about creating your own outdoor entertaining space?

Let BGR Landscapes bring the kitchen outside. We can modify any kitchen to your needs!
