Our Story

Elegant Greens was founded by Dion Holmes in April of 2005 at the age of 20 years old. Dion quit his job at a landscaping company that he was working for to start his own landscaping business full time while going to Eastern Michigan University to become a teacher. The business became a limited liability company called Elegant Greens. Mainly servicing Southgate, Riverview and Wyandotte Michigan.

In the April of 2005, Dion only had a black Pontiac Grand Am and couldn’t afford to buy a truck, trailer, mower or anything what so ever related to landscaping. However, he had $500 and he was going to make the best of it. He bought a $100 trailer, had a hitch put on his pontiac grand am, bought a used w**d whip and push mower at a garage sale. He then passed out over 10,000 fliers by walking door to door to as many homes as he possibly could. Before long he had 20 lawn mowing customers!

Now in 2019, Elegant Greens has amassed several full-time employees to service its more than 400 clients it services on a weekly basis. Which include: an office team, 4 lawn mowing crews, 2 landscape enhancement crews, 2 fertilization/w**d control trucks and a full-time mechanics because of the outstanding quality of work done. Elegant Greens still services many of the properties it started with in 2005 and has over one hundred and thirty 5 star reviews on google.

Elegant Greens is currently engaged in all segments of the professional lawn maintenance industry, specializing in high quality lawn care which include fertilization and w**d control treatments. Elegant Greens serves home owners and businesses in Southgate, Riverview, Trenton, Wyandotte, Allen Park, Lincoln Park, Taylor, Woodhaven, Brownstown, Grosse Ile, Rockwood, Gibraltar, Flat Rock, Garden City, Livonia, Canton, Dearborn, Dearborn Heights Michigan. Other services include seasonal yard clean ups, gutter cleaning, hedge trimming, snow and ice management.
