🍂 Welcome, October! 🍂

We’re heading into the final stretch of the year, and the holidays will be here before we know it. A little home or business maintenance now can help you avoid inconvenient surprises when family, customers, and guests are counting on everything to work.

Here are a few helpful things to check this month:

✅ Replace your HVAC filter and make sure your system is ready for the cooler days ahead. South Texas can still bring warm weather, so your AC may have more work to do, too.

✅ Check smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. Test them and replace batteries if needed.

✅ Clean the dryer lint screen and check the vent. A clear airflow path helps your dryer run properly and reduces a common fire risk.

✅ Look under sinks and around appliances for drips, water stains, or loose connections before a small leak becomes a bigger repair.

✅ Check doors, windows, and exterior lights so your place is ready for guests and shorter evenings.

✅ Make a list of repairs you’ve been putting off. Taking care of them early can make the busy holiday season a little easier.

🔧 A Personal Update from The Repair Guy

I want to take a moment to be open with my customers and anyone considering calling The Repair Guy.

Right now, my business is still a one-man operation. I answer the phone, schedule appointments, prepare estimates, purchase materials, complete the physical work, handle paperwork, and manage everything else required to keep the business running.

I’m working hard to grow and improve, but there are times when my schedule becomes completely full and I’m unable to reach everyone as quickly as I would like. I truly understand how frustrating it can be when you need something repaired and cannot get immediate service.

At the moment, I’m also committed to a few remodeling projects that require a significant amount of my time. Remodeling is not normally the main focus of my business, but I sometimes take on these projects for established customers who have trusted me over the years—especially when they’ve already had a difficult experience with another contractor. When I make a commitment to a customer, I do my best to honor it and give their project the attention it deserves.

This isn’t an apology—it’s simply an honest update about where my business is right now. If you have a repair or project that can be scheduled ahead, please reach out so we can reserve a time for it. If you have an emergency, contact me and I’ll do everything reasonably possible to help or find a solution.

God willing, The Repair Guy will continue growing, and I’ll eventually be able to hire dependable help so we can serve more customers efficiently. Until then, I sincerely appreciate your patience, understanding, continued trust, referrals, and support.
