Happy Memorial Day weekend! This morning, we’re back with another “who is this new addition?” This year, we have another new flower joining our line up…a classic wedding flower with a long vase life, more colors than we can count, and a name that sounds straight out of Harry Potter’s Herbology class. They’re in our tunnel because they can be finicky in the extreme elements (today’s wind to think of it) and are slow growing. What is it? Drop your guess below.

How is May as a flower farmer? It’s about like the weather - check in 10 minutes and it will all be different! We’ve gone from frost warnings to 90 degrees in 4 days so the frost fabric has been swapped for shade cloth. The plants can’t figure it out either!

In the meantime, our u-pick field is taking shape, we are learning more every day in our high tunnel, and we now have dahlias in the ground! Check out this antique plow that we’re using this year…it was in the back of an old building when we tore it down and couldn’t resist getting it dirty ourselves!
