Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced plumber capable of installing, repairing, and maintaining residential and light commercial plumbing systems. Work includes piping, fixture installs, boilers, water heaters (including heat pump water heaters), hydronic systems, drainage, venting, gas piping, and general plumbing diagnostics. This role is ideal for individuals who can work independently, communicate well with customers, and maintain a high standard of craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities

Install, repair, and service residential and commercial plumbing systems.

Run DWV, water piping, gas piping, and hydronic lines per code and manufacturer standards.

Install boilers, water heaters, fixtures, pumps, and associated system components.

Diagnose plumbing issues and provide clear, accurate solutions.

Read and interpret plans, specifications, and job layouts.

Maintain accurate documentation and communication with office and customers.

Work independently or as part of a crew depending on job scope.

Ensure all work complies with Maine State Plumbing Code and company standards.

Required Qualifications

Maine Journeyman or Master Plumbing License (required).

3–5+ years of plumbing experience preferred.

Strong understanding of residential and light commercial plumbing systems.

Ability to troubleshoot efficiently and work independently.

Valid Maine driver’s license with clean driving record.

This position is ideal for an experienced, confident technician with 3–5+ years in the field, capable of independently diagnosing, repairing, and installing a wide range of HVAC systems. Position Summary

The Senior HVAC Technician will handle advanced service, maintenance, and installation work on residential and light commercial systems. This includes gas and oil heating equipment, heat pumps, ducted/ductless systems, boilers, ERVs, and complex troubleshooting. Senior techs at Excel Mechanical serve as subject-matter experts and mentors to junior technicians while maintaining top-tier customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Perform advanced troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on heating and cooling systems.

Service and install gas, oil, heat pump, mini-split, and ducted HVAC systems.

Conduct combustion analysis, system tuning, and safety verifications on gas and oil equipment.

Complete annual maintenance, system upgrades, and equipment replacements.

Maintain clear job documentation, service notes, and customer communication.

Participate in an on-call rotation (senior tech level).

Ensure all work meets company standards, manufacturer specs, and Maine code requirements.

Required Qualifications

3–5+ years of HVAC field experience (required).

EPA Universal Certification (required).

Proven ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex HVAC issues.
