🏠 Your foundation might be giving pests an open invitation.

As we head into November in Minnesota, mice are looking for warm, sheltered places to escape the cold.

Small openings around foundation blocks and utility lines can become potential entry points.

And the tricky part? Some of these spots are easy to overlook.

Don’t wait until you hear scratching in the walls to pay attention to what’s happening outside.

See those guys?

This is the part that gets people. From the outside it looks like a couple of bees near a crack. Nothing alarming. Easy to ignore.

But what is happening on the other side of that gap is a very different story — thousands of workers, an established nest, and a colony that is at its most aggressive and defensive state.

They are desperate, territorial, and they will sting with zero warning when they feel that nest is threatened.

Do not spray the crack yourself. Do not seal it yourself. Trapping an active yellow jacket colony inside a wall void pushes them to find another exit — sometimes straight through your drywall into your living space.

This is a professional job and Argus Pest Control handles it safely and completely across Wright County and the West Metro.

Those aren’t just harmless little ladybugs… 👀🐞

Asian Lady Beetles are a common fall pest here in Minnesota. As temperatures drop, they start looking for warm places to shelter — which can mean your house/business.

Once they get inside, they can be a major nuisance… especially when they decide to gather around windows, walls, and sunny areas of your home.

🍂 Seeing them gathering?

Don’t let your home or place of business become their winter vacation spot.

Seeing a few boxelder bugs around your house is one thing… seeing THIS many is another.

As temperatures start to change, boxelder bugs can gather around siding, vents, windows, and other warm areas of your home as they look for a place to shelter.

Two Fall Invaders. One mission. Your home.

October in Minnesota means two of the most common fall invaders are on the move at the same time.

Boxelder Bugs
Recognizable by their black and orange markings, boxelder bugs spend summer feeding on boxelder, maple, and ash trees. As temperatures drop in the Minnesota Fall they migrate toward warm structures — congregating in massive numbers on the sunny south and west facing sides before finding entry points and overwintering inside wall voids.

Asian Lady Beetles
Often mistaken for native ladybugs, Asian lady beetles are an introduced species that behaves very differently. They bite. They stain surfaces with a foul smelling yellow fluid when disturbed or crushed. And they overwinter inside in enormous numbers — hiding in wall voids, attic spaces, and window frames until warmer temperatures bring them back out.

Look for the black M or W shaped marking behind the head — that is how you tell them apart from a harmless native ladybug.

A residual barrier treatment applied to the exterior of your home creates a protected perimeter that stops these fall invaders.

Has one flown in your hair yet? 😂🐞

Because apparently boxelder bugs don’t believe in personal space.

Every year in Minnesota, it’s like clockwork — the boxelder bugs arrive. Absolutely certain that your sunny south-facing siding is the perfect place to spend the season.

Honestly? Can’t blame them for the ambition.

What you CAN do is call Argus Pest Control before they find their way inside — because what starts as a congregation on the exterior becomes a very different situation once they locate an entry point and settle into your walls for winter.

Give Craig a call and ask about a barrier treatment.

Just another day on the job. 🐝

Bees found what they thought was a pretty great spot — tucked up under an eave, sheltered, warm, and completely out of reach for most.

This is one of the most common fall bee situations across Wright County — bees establishing entry points in eaves, gutters, siding gaps, and roof lines as they look for somewhere to settle before the cold hits. What looks like a small opening is often hiding a much bigger situation behind the surface.

I’m Craig, and I handle situations, just like this, all the time.

If you have bees going in and out of your eaves, siding, or roofline right now — do not wait on it. Fall colonies are at their largest and most defensive.

🐞Fall comes with beautiful colors… and sometimes a few unwanted guests.

Asian lady beetles start looking for protected places to shelter as temperatures drop—and homes can look pretty inviting.

Once they find a way inside, they have a habit of gathering in numbers.

If you’re suddenly noticing clusters of these little orange invaders around your home/business, it may be time to have the situation professionally assessed.

It doesn’t hurt to prevent the problem before it starts 📞 612-293-7219
