Big day around the office for the Modern Mechanical crew!

This morning, our fully insulated Choate chiller hit the road—another ammonia system built with precision, dedication, and a whole lot of hard work from our team. There’s nothing better than seeing something we’ve poured our time and effort into leave the yard and head to its next home.

After a full morning of work, we fired up the grill and let the trash talk fly!

We fired up the grill, set up the co****le boards, and had ourselves a little parking lot tournament. Because around here, we believe in working our butts off—but we’re just as committed to enjoying the wins together. It’s all about the team!

From dirt and piping… to pristine ice!

Right now, they might just look like typical construction zones—bare ground, exposed systems, and work in progress. But this is where it all starts. Beneath the surface, the foundation is being built with precision, planning, and a whole lot of hard work.

Before long, these spaces will be transformed into fully finished, high-performance ice rinks—ready for skates to hit the surface and memories to be made.

It doesn’t happen overnight, but it does happen because of the crews who show up every day and make it happen!

Another one rolling out!

Our team just shipped this custom chiller from the warehouse, and it’s officially arrived on site in Huntsville, Alabama. From fabrication to final load-out, it’s always rewarding to see these systems head out the door and one step closer to going live on-site.

Big credit to the crew for the work that goes into every detail to make sure it arrives ready to perform. Looking forward to getting this one up and running!

Out in Joplin, MO, our crew has been putting in the work on a new skating ribbon and has completed the installation of the insulation layers beneath the floor. This step plays a major role in efficiency and long-term performance—and it’s great to see it come together.

Big things happening in the shop!

One of our chillers is officially getting dressed for the outdoors—being fully enclosed and protected so it’s ready to perform in any conditions. This unit is headed out to Connecticut, where it’ll be built to handle the elements year-round.

Meanwhile, another chiller is coming together nicely on the shop floor and making great progress as it takes shape. This one will soon be making its way down to Alabama.

Steady momentum as we keep pushing through a busy construction season. More updates coming!

Last year, we completed this ice rink floor in Oak Lawn, IL—another project we’re proud to have brought from concept to completion.

Fast forward to today, and we’re officially in the thick of construction season. Crews are mobilized, projects are underway, and the momentum is building across multiple job sites.

There’s a lot happening behind the scenes right now, and we’re looking forward to sharing progress, milestones, and updates from the field in the weeks ahead.
