👋 Meet Cindy Williams, at Carhart Lumber, Burwell!

Cindy and her husband, Stephen, moved to Burwell from Valentine in April 2025 when Stephen became the pastor at Calamus Trinity Methodist Church and Taylor Calvary Church — and they’ve quickly fallen in love with their new community.

“We love Burwell. The community support is great, the people are wonderful, and it’s so quiet. It’s amazing!”

Being close to the lake is a bonus, too. Stephen is an avid fisherman while Cindy is perfectly happy bringing along a good book. And thankfully, he’s catch and release because Cindy wants nothing to do with seafood! 😂

A few fun facts about Cindy:
-She collects ladybugs.
-She loves crafting — T-shirts, signs and anything fun.
-Her Shih Tzu, Peanut, keeps her busy.
-Her favorite title is Aunt — with 14 nieces and nephews and 5 greats!
-Her dream vacation is Niagara Falls because she LOVES waterfalls.
-She’s a proud stepmom to a police officer in Virginia.

After moving to Burwell, Cindy initially continued working remotely for the Valentine newspaper, but sitting home just wasn’t for her. She wanted to get out, meet people and feel like she was contributing to her new community.

That’s what she’s found at Carhart. Cindy loves the team atmosphere, helping wherever she can, working on the computer and finding new ways to promote the store. And with Stephen having worked in construction before becoming a pastor, she’s pretty comfortable around the industry — and bossing the guys around! 😉
