We're hiring! Do you know a student or recent grad who is interested in learning a trade? We’re looking for an entry-level painter / painter apprentice to join our team.

This could be a great fit for a recent trade-school graduate, current trades student, or someone who enjoys hands-on work and wants to build skills in the painting trade.

We’re looking for someone who is reliable, teachable, detail-oriented, and ready to work as part of a steady team. Full-time is preferred, but we are open to part-time student schedules for the right person.

Starting pay: $18–$20/hour
Location: Greater Grand Rapids / West Michigan
Schedule: Monday–Friday daytime hours

John Kapenga Painting, LLC is looking for an experienced residential painter to join our small team in West Michigan.

This is a full-time employee position for someone who takes pride in quality work, shows up reliably, respects customers’ homes, and wants steady work with a family-owned company.

We know being your own boss has its appeal — but running a business also means finding jobs, estimating, scheduling, collecting payment, and managing all the details. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys the craft of painting but would rather have steady work, clear expectations, and a team to be part of.

Details:
• Full-time, hourly position
• $20–$25/hour for experienced painters, based on skill and experience
• Paid time off and paid holidays after 30 days
• Sick time
• Healthcare reimbursement available through QSEHRA
• Residential and light commercial work throughout West Michigan

We’re looking for someone with professional painting experience, reliable transportation, strong attention to detail, and a good attitude on the job site.
