Storm drain inspections are important… because apparently they’re not just collecting rainwater anymore. 😅

After rear-ending a truck, this guy thought the smartest move was to stash his drugs in the nearest storm drain before heading back to his car.

We’ve found rocks, mud, trash, roots, and all kinds of debris…

…but this is a new one. 😂

Two hundred and fifty years later, the Declaration of Independence is still one of the boldest statements ever written.

It wasn’t merely a declaration of war against a king. It was a declaration of an idea.

That our rights do not come from politicians.
They do not come from governments.
They do not come from majorities.

They are inherent to every person.

The founders argued that government’s only legitimate purpose is to secure those rights—and that its authority comes from the consent of the governed, not from force, wealth, or bloodlines.

They didn’t call for revolution over inconvenience or political disagreement. In fact, they warned against changing governments for “light and transient causes.” But they also believed that when a government repeatedly abandons its duty and moves toward tyranny, the people have both the right and the responsibility to restore liberty.

The final line still gives me chills:

“We mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.”

Those weren’t empty words. By signing that document, they risked ex*****on for treason. Many lost their homes, their businesses, their wealth, and nearly everything they owned. They signed anyway.

Whether you agree with every decision made by our founders or not, the ideals they committed to continue to challenge every generation of Americans:

Protect liberty.
Defend equal human dignity.
Hold government accountable.
Leave the Republic stronger than you found it.

America has never been perfect. But from the very beginning, it was built on an extraordinary aspiration—that free people could govern themselves.

City of Caldwell Declares Local Disaster Emergency Following Severe Weather

Mayor Eric Phillips has declared a local disaster emergency for the City of Caldwell effective June 26, 2026, pursuant to Idaho Code § 46-1011. The declaration is in response to extreme weather conditions that have caused significant impacts across the City of Caldwell. The declaration applies to all areas within Caldwell city limits.

Severe storms beginning June 26, 2026 brought damaging conditions which affected public infrastructure, private property, and essential services throughout the city. Residents of the City of Caldwell have been displaced from their homes due to the storm.

“This declaration allows us to fully mobilize city resources and request additional assistance if needed,” said Mayor Phillips. “Our priority as a city is to protect the safety of our residents, restore essential services, and begin recovery efforts as quickly as possible. Caldwell Police and Fire, as well as other city staff have been working nonstop since the storms started to assure the safety and well-being of those we serve and will continue to do so until the threats from this severe storm end.”

The emergency declaration enables the City to access and deploy all available local emergency resources, coordinate response and recovery efforts across departments and partner agencies, and request assistance from the State of Idaho and federal agencies if necessary.

City crews and emergency personnel are actively assessing damage, clearing debris, and working to restore normal operations. Residents are urged to avoid damaged or hazardous areas, follow all emergency guidance issued by local officials, and report urgent hazards to local authorities.

The City will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
