Our neighbors were ready to beat the heat this summer, so they added a pool—and we got to work building the perfect place to enjoy it!

This new raised deck will be the go-to spot for everything from sunny afternoons by the pool to relaxing summer evenings with family and friends. There’s nothing better than creating an outdoor space where memories will be made for years to come.

 Some projects are about more than landscaping and hardscaping - they’re about creating a place for remembrance, reflection, and peace.

This upcoming week we’re putting the finishing touches on a cremation remembrance garden, providing families and friends with a beautiful space to honor their loved ones. As an alternative to a traditional burial, these memorial grounds offer a lasting tribute while making efficient use of available space.

This project has been especially meaningful to me because it’s located just steps from where my great-grandparents are laid to rest. Knowing that our team is helping create a place where future generations can gather to remember and reflect makes this one particularly special.

So far, we’ve installed over 16,000 pounds of pavers and 250 feet of granite walls—that’s more than 36,000 pounds of granite. It’s been an incredible project, and we’re excited to put the finishing touches on it this week.

We’re excited to share the first step in a major backyard transformation for some longtime clients we’ve had the pleasure of working with for years. We’re incredibly grateful they trusted us once again with bringing their vision to life.

These photos show our original rendering alongside the completed first phase. One of the biggest surprises for the homeowners was the custom stair design connecting the upper deck to the lower patio. They had no idea a staircase could be designed this way, and that’s exactly why we love creating detailed renderings—they help homeowners explore ideas and visualize possibilities they may have never considered.

This is only the beginning. Stay tuned as we continue bringing this backyard to life, with the goal of having it ready just in time for football season! 🏈

From a settling patio and relentless summer heat to a backyard built for relaxing, this transformation completely changed how these homeowners use their outdoor space.

The original patio was installed over a backfilled swimming pool, and after years of dealing with settling pavers, unbearable summer heat, they asked us to find the problem and transform their patio space to incorporate shade.

After our investigation, we discovered the cause: the pool had been backfilled with improper materials, allowing the base to shift over time. There was only one way to do it right.

We excavated nearly 5 feet deep to remove all of the contaminated fill before rebuilding the foundation from the ground up. The site was reconstructed in carefully compacted lifts using heavy vibration, plenty of water, and base stabilizer throughout the process to create a foundation built to last.

With the groundwork complete, the transformation really began:
✔️ A brand-new paver patio
✔️ A beautiful pavilion with wrapped posts
✔️ Electrical installed for a ceiling fan to keep the space cool all summer
✔️ Downspouts tied into underground drainage to move water away from the patio
✔️ The old wooden privacy fence replaced with a natural DeGroot Arborvitae hedgerow, providing year-round privacy, a beautiful backdrop, and even helping reduce noise from neighboring properties.

Every great outdoor space starts with a strong foundation. By taking the time to correct the issues beneath the surface, we were able to create a backyard that’s not only beautiful but built for years of enjoyment.
