After closing my storefront, I’m on a journey to remodel our 100+ year old farmhouse!

A view into the living room. 💚

It’s starting to come together! Clay got the living room and front entry painted for us this weekend. It gives a bit of a moody vibe, but not too dark. Just enough to feel rich and cozy!

Our old furniture was absolute junk we when began this remodel, so I knew I would get to pick what matched the new space. However, my budget is very limited at this point. So, I chose to spend a good portion of my budget on a cozy, reclining sofa (it’s arriving Thursday), and then jumped on Wayfair to round out the look with some lower cost chairs. They aren’t the most comfortable 🤦🏻‍♀️, but they are cute enough and will get us through while the kids are still young, and I can save for something a bit nicer down the road. We’re all just trying to get by out here in this crazy world of high priced groceries and shoes for a family of 6. 🫠

For all you Christmas-lovers out there, I’m booking slots to decorate homes and businesses this year!

Since closing my store, I’ve had quite a few people ask over the last few years if I would be willing to decorate homes for Christmas. After taking a step back for awhile, I’m opening my schedule up this year for clients new and old!

I’ve decorated many beautiful trees, mantles, and displays throughout the years, and I have an assistant lined up to help me move quickly and efficiently. I can shop for you to help fill in any gaps, as well as use other decor elements (lanterns, battery operated candles, signs, and non traditional greenery stems) to help make your tree or mantle full and magnificent!

I’m happy to discuss a budget to add new pieces or use what you have. I charge an hourly rate for my time, no crazy “price per tree foot” numbers, which allows me to make a luxury experience affordable.

All the brick is on the faux fireplace wall! It adds so much warmth to the space!

Now comes the long process of piping in all the mortar and smoothing it down. I know Brad will do an amazing job finishing it up!

What BEAUTIFUL day! It’s still a bit warm for my fall loving soul, but the sun is shining, the birds are singing, the leaves are flying around, and I get to look at these beautiful pumpkins and mums on my front porch every time I am outside! I smile every time I pull into my driveway! ☺️🍂🍁🎃

I still need to get daytime pics of the own porch, but here is Miss Carol’s porch that I decorated yesterday! She wanted lots of pumpkins and a variety of fall flowers. I also pilfered in her garage and was able to put together a fall wreath for her door will all her random extras.

It all turned out super cute!

If you need help getting your porch decorated up for fall, let me know! We have a lot of locals selling all kinds of pumpkins and flowers at very affordable prices. I can grab what you need and deliver them to your house with whatever budget you have!

The candles are glowing. The front porch is all dressed up for fall!

Avery helped me put out our outdoor candles this evening, so the porch is now complete! We were waiting for the batteries to arrive. Tho, please excuse the lopsided wreath - one of my hooks came loose, and I forgot to fix it. 🙃

With the landscaping around the porch, it’s definitely a showstopper this year! I’m excited to show you more photos with the daytime light, so you can see what makes my heart so happy when I pull into our driveway. ☺️ The gas lanterns will be in when I decorate next year (maybe even by this Christmas), so it’ll be even more amazing!

From top to bottom, the drywall is done!🙌

Life has been crazy, and I haven’t taken the time to post the last couple weeks, but today is a day to share!

Now that drywall is finished, October has a very tight timeline. Painting begins this weekend, as Clayton will be spraying on the primer coats and ceiling paint. Flooring will be laid next week or the week after. The brick tile goes on the faux fireplace wall beginning the 12th, and the kitchen, pantry, and tv wall cabinetry should be installed by the end of the month. I will be painting my butt off in-between all these stages, wherever I can be that isn’t in the way of someone else, and Clay will be popping in on the weekends to keep me moving.

I have no timeline on countertops, as those can’t be measured until cabinets are installed, but I wholeheartedly believe we will be moved in for the Christmas season!

While all the trimming and detail work will take a lot more time, I can honestly say that there is now a light shining at the end of this three year long tunnel. It will probably be a full four years before everything is absolutely complete, but who’s counting anyway? 🤷🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️

Kitchen plans are finalized!

Things have been slowing down a bit as of late. Our drywall mudders are running a bit later than they originally planned, so crossing our fingers that they get started the middle of this week. Also, I, unfortunately, haven’t been very productive on the wood finishing side of things as we have headed back into a busy schedule of work, school, and football.
In the meantime, however, I did get amazing news that our cabinet maker is able to move us up a couple months on his schedule! So, last week, I met with him for a third time to discuss changes and finalize the layout and finishes for the kitchen, pantry, and living room cabinetry.

It’s always nerve wracking when making huge, very expensive 😳 decisions that will become the hub of your home, but after lots of anxiety, I feel like it’s going to be amazing!

I wanted to share the kitchen renderings with you all so you can see what’s to come! The finishes and details will have to be a surprise once they are all installed in mid to late October!
