There are few important things to know about PFAS 💡 Staying properly informed gives you the chance to make decisions that feel right for you and your family.

With that being said, here are the facts:
💧PFAS can be found in both private wells and municipal water. 💧You can’t see your smell them.
💧 Boiling your water won’t remove them and is a big no no.
💧 Reverse osmosis and activated carbon block filtration are the main two water filtration solutions to effectively reduce PFAS.

The best place to start is by understanding what’s actually in your water and choosing treatment based on your specific water quality. PFAS have been documented/found in the Camas, Vancouver, and Washougal water supply with exceeding levels in Camas and Vancouver. You can find this information in your City's Annual Water Quality Report 📋

In the ongoing PFAS conversation, it’s important to know why they are such a problem & warrant action. These health concerns are documented by the EPA https://www.epa.gov/pfas/our-current-understanding-human-health-and-environmental-risks-pfas. PFAS are found in drinking water (like in Camas Well 13), soil/water near waste sites, food packaging, personal and household care products, and more.
The best way to limit/reduce your exposure is to take charge of what you’re putting on and in your body, as well as your home.

🔹 Filter your drinking water - carbon filters and reverse osmosis are both good options for effectively reducing PFAS.
🔹 Use filtered water for anything you consume - cooking (boiling does not remove PFAS), water for your coffee etc.)
🔹 Choose PFAS-free products when possible - particularly stain-resistant carpets/furniture, water-repellent clothing, and other products marketed for extreme stain, grease, or water resistance often have PFAS. Contaminated water can still be the larger source.

Our team is here to help, if you have questions regarding your water quality and what solution might be best for your home, we do complimentary consultations! Every family deserves clean, healthy water 💙

We can say with certainty, no one waits for the day their water heater goes out -- if only they lasted forever! But as any household appliance, there comes a time when troubleshooting isn't the solution. And our team is here to help in both cases 🤝 Our customer now has a new fully operational tankless water heater! 🤩

Want your tankless water heater to last as long as possible? Here are some maintenance tips to consider 🔧💧

✅ Flush it regularly — Mineral buildup and scale can collect inside the heat exchanger, reducing efficiency and putting extra stress on the system. (We don't recommend this if your water heater is older and this has not been done regularly)

✅ Pay attention to water quality — Hard water isn’t the only concern. Higher levels of chlorine or chloramines can contribute to premature wear of certain rubber seals, gaskets, and other internal components over time. Some manufacturers won't cover the unit under warranty if the source of the damage is water quality.

✅ Clean the inlet filter — Sediment and debris can restrict water flow and make your unit work harder than it should.

✅ Keep the intake and exhaust clear — Proper airflow is essential for safe, efficient operation.

✅ Schedule routine maintenance — Catching scale buildup, worn components, or other issues early can help prevent more expensive repairs later.

Your tankless water heater works with the same water that flows through the rest of your home, so better water quality can mean better protection for your plumbing and appliances, too. Don't hesitate to contact us for any of your water heater needs, we're here to help 💙

With all of the emerging concerns regarding PFAS in the water supply, there are absolutely additional measures you can take to reduce your exposure 💧 Especially when it comes to drinking water; and that is filtration.

Above are the water filtration systems that have been proven to reduce PFAS. They all have their strong suits.
Activated carbon block filters and Reverse Osmosis are perhaps the most common and popular. However, the big disadvantage with RO systems is they waste water, and you need to add minerals back in (since it reduces not just contaminants but minerals as well). We don’t have those issues with carbon block filters.

We have NSF certified, commercial grade point of use and whole home filtration systems available to you 💧 A great starting point is to make sure the water you’re actively ingesting (through drinking, cooking etc.) is clean. Contact us to learn more or visit our website to view some options!
