We saw several "close calls" this last week. Folks coming a little too close to starting a house fire. This is a good example of why it is a good idea to hire a licensed, bonded, insured and above all COMPETENT electrical contractor to work on your property. While it might be attractive to "save a few bucks" and hire a handyperson to work on your place, the results of poor workmanship and installs that are not code compliant can be catastrophic. Please don't set the neighborhood on fire. And, your insurance claim will be denied, if the cause of the fire is found to be an install that isn't code compliant.
