With the help of award-winning creative agency Owen Jones, we spent the past several months evaluating our brand; this included everything from our internal strategy and messaging to our look and feel. What we learned is that we had a tremendous opportunity to evolve our brand into something that represents where Lam Partners is as a company today. We're really excited about where we landed, and to be sharing this with you today.

We are thrilled to share with you our new brand identity for Lam Partners.

Inspired by our core principles and spirit of being visionaries fluent in the language of light, pushing expectations of what lighting design can do, and elevating the human experience, our new look casts our creative spirit, as well as our legacy, to the forefront of our brand. We think that our new logo, design and messaging will provide us with a consistent brand identity that speaks in a powerful way to our collaborators, clients, and friends.

The Lam logo serves as the foundation to a dynamic, flexible visual system. It finds a visual language for light and mimics how light behaves in a space. The logo represents the interplay of light and shadow. The new typeface and vibrant colors reflect our approach to our work: energetic, passionate, and innovative.

2021 is also a special year for us as it marks our 60th anniversary. We continue to recognize our history and legacy as we welcome these new changes.

We are sixty.

⁠2021 is a special year for Lam Partners as it marks the celebration of our 60th anniversary. As we begin to look to the future of our company, we’d like to take a moment and reflect on our founding and our past.

William Lam Associates was founded in 1961 by William M. C. Lam, after working in architecture and as a lighting manufacturer for many years. With a focus on the integration of lighting with architecture and urban design, Bill worked with many architects across the U.S. and throughout the world. Bill retired in 1995 and worked as a consultant until his passing in 2012, leaving a legacy of prolific lighting design in his wake.

Today, Lam Partners is a 30-person firm with eight principals across two offices. Our collaborative spirit, supportive internal culture, and elevation of human spaces show that people are at the heart of what we do. We understand that the spaces we create will have a profound effect on those that inhabit them.

Join us throughout as we celebrate not only this incredible milestone, but as we look towards the future of our firm.
