🚨HOMEOWNERS: IF YOUR HOME WAS FLOODED AND YOU DON’T HAVE INSURANCE🚨
If you’re dealing with flood damage, there may still be assistance available. Here are some important steps to take right now:
🏠 1. Apply for FEMA Individual Assistance
If a federal disaster declaration is finalized, homeowners may be eligible for FEMA grants to help with basic home repairs, temporary housing, and essential personal property. FEMA assistance does not have to be repaid.

📍 2. REPORT YOUR DAMAGE TO INDIANA 211
Even if you don’t know whether you qualify for assistance, REPORT THE DAMAGE! State agencies use damage reports to determine the extent of the disaster and identify additional recovery resources.
📞 Call 2-1-1 or use the Indiana 211 Damage Reporting Portal.
💰 3. LOOK INTO SBA DISASTER LOANS
The U.S. Small Business Administration offers disaster loans to homeowners—not just business owners. These can provide low-interest, long-term financing to repair or replace a flood-damaged primary residence.
📸 4. DOCUMENT EVERYTHING BEFORE CLEANING UP
Take LOTS of photos and videos before throwing anything away. Document:
• Water lines on walls
• Flooring and drywall damage
• Furniture and appliances
• Clothing and personal belongings
• Structural damage
• Anything else damaged by the flood
Then begin removing wet materials as quickly as possible to help prevent mold and additional damage.
🧹 5. LOOK FOR FREE CLEANUP RESOURCES
Check with local community distribution sites and the American Red Cross for possible flood cleanup supplies and kits.
