Finding the Problem Before Digging the Yard.

When a homeowner in Lexington called us because her toilets wouldn't flush and water was backing up into her shower, we knew clearing the line was only step one. Getting things moving again fixes today's emergency, but it doesn't fix the underlying cause.
To give her a permanent fix, we brought out our diagnostic equipment.

As you can see in the video, we ran our RIDGID drain camera down the line and found exactly what was choking off the flow: a massive intrusion of tree roots.
But seeing the roots inside the pipe isn't enough. We need to know where they are in relation to the yard. That's where the underground sonde locator comes in. The camera head transmits a precise signal from inside the pipe, allowing us to trace it from the surface and pinpoint the exact spot, depth, and trajectory of the damage.

The Result:
Instead of guessing or tearing up the entire lawn looking for a break, we marked the exact section of compromised pipe. We cleared the roots to restore her service immediately, and handed her a targeted, data-backed plan of action to replace only the damaged section.

We replaced a 40 gallon water heater that had deteriorated and began leaking from the bottom, leading to water accumulation on the floor. We shut down the system, removed the failed unit, and installed a new 50 gallon water heater with updated connections!

We spent an hour this morning with students at Tennessee College of Applied Technology-Paris talking about career paths, the demand for skilled labor, and owning a home residential business. We also got to see the facility they’ve created for construction including their spaces for electrical and plumbing training and were very impressed with the learning environment they’ve created. The instructors, including Mr. Allen Ashlock, have created opportunities for the students to get experience in the field through volunteer work such as Habitat for Humanity, and use their shop to build universal design projects for individuals with special needs. The young men we met today were engaged, asked great questions, and are eager to begin their careers in the trades!
