Just a little PSA: On Thursday it is going to be brutally cold. 5 degrees with 40 to 50 mile per hour wind. They are estimating-30 to -40 wind chill. Wind is the major cause of plumbing to freeze. Leave your water dripping in your faucets. Make sure your outside hose bibs are wrapped or covered. Make sure that your hose bibs or frost free hydrants have no hoses connected. Most manufactured have the dryer vent running underneath. Turn these on ever so often to keep it a little warm under there. Open all cabinet doors on the kitchen and bathroom cabinets. Good luck and stay warm.

Did your water freeze? If so you may want to prepare. The next three days are going to be much warmer and water lines will start to thaw. If you are not home and your lines are broken , when they do thaw this could flood your home. If you have a way to turn off main water supply while you’re away you should.
