That rustic planked wood door look is everywhere right now. And for good reason. It is gorgeous.
But here is what most people don’t know. Build that door the traditional way, gluing solid strips of wood edge to edge, and you are setting yourself up for trouble. Over time those doors want to ripple, warp, and pull out of flat. It is just what solid wood does as it responds to humidity and temperature.
So we engineered a better way. We start with a stable half inch apple ply core, edge band it, then laminate quarter inch solid white oak strips to the face. You get the exact same beautiful planked look, in white oak, walnut, or whatever species you want, with none of the warping that plagues a traditional solid plank door.
Beautiful and stable. That is the whole point of doing it right.
