Meet Zachary!
Zachary's niche on the team is mudwork, which is necessary for almost every project. Whether creating texture or perfectly smooth surface, Zach has an eye for the detail and a deft hand with the mud knife. Zach is currently taking the lead on the mudwork for a gas fireplace living room update (pictured).

One of his favorite tools is a spring tool (pictured). It looks like a pen, but when you pull it apart it smacks together to hit nails flush into wood. He also enjoys using the handheld circular saw.

One of the jobs Zach found particularly rewarding was a full kitchen renovation finished over the winter. He was particularly happy with the trim carpentry and subway tile, and also did mudwork on that job for a basement stair relocation (pictured). Zach commented, "It was rewarding to see the tile come together and the final result of a high quality kitchen that will last a long time".

In his free time, Zach enjoys writing and playing guitar. He enjoys listening to hip hop, such as Action Bronson, Earl Sweatshirt, and Mac Miller.

A full renovation completely transformed this small, full bathroom.

The fixture updates create more visual space in the bathroom and the lighted mirror further extends the visual effect.

The jetted tub that was so popular 20 years ago, and yet often unused, was replaced by a gorgeous surround with lots of practical shelf space.

Meet Christian!

Christian is a talented contractor who particularly enjoys tiling. Tiling requires meticulous attention to detail, as a mistake early on will continue to present throughout the rest of the project.

One of his favorite tools to use on the job site is an angle grinder for its versatility and use during tiling projects. He also likes doing flooring and did most of the work on the pictured large project.

While working, Christian often listens to rock n' roll, especially Jimmy Hendricks. When not working, he enjoys spending time at home with his cats, Beans and Zucchini.

We love a big, complex project but we also love a smaller project in a small space.

This before and after bathroom refresh brightened the entire room and made the bathroom feel bigger.

We removed the bulkhead over the shower and meticulously laid bright white tile in the shower. We updated the flooring and sink fixture and added fresh, brighter paint.

We added this backsplash to a kitchen of a new build home. It brings joy, delight, and practical protection to the hub of this customer's home.

Customer said: "Matt and his team were so easy to work with; they listened to our vision for this tile, they worked efficiently, and their handy work on this project is perfect. They were focused on what we wanted and brought their own insight and skill to the project. They also were so tidy and cleaned up everything. It was a great experience!"

Meet Steve!
Steve is Lead Carpenter for Matt's Renovations and in many ways, Matt's right hand man. Although Matt oversees and finalizes all work, when his presence is required somewhere else, you'll typically interact with Steve as the lead on your project.

Steve is a great general contractor and works on all projects, but his speciality is carpentry. He especially loves doing trimwork. Baseboards, windowsills, and crown molding are his favorite projects to work on. He created a skirt board from scratch (video) and perfectly fits wood together in corners (video). He is also able to texture match new wood with already existing wood.

On the job site, Steve enjoys listening to metal music and using the drywall lift (video). In his free time, Steve's hobbies include drawing and acrylic painting.

This general contracting project involved a lot of project management and collaboration.

We prepared the space for a fresh look by doing a full kitchen demo and removing flooring throughout the house. We repaired water damage in the subfloor of the kitchen from a water leak and updated the location of water and electric as needed.

We then coordinated the arrival of several contractors involved in the kitchen remodel. The counter space was dramatically improved with a long central cabinet install by Stonebridge Woodworks and stone countertops by Troy Granite. Don's Appliances contributed new, bigger appliances. Woodpecker Flooring installed hardwood flooring throughout the kitchen and living room (not pictured).

Our team added drop down lighting in the kitchen, brightening the space. We retextured the kitchen ceiling to match the rest of the house. We completed the tile work, which added waterproofing and class to the backsplash, around the window, and behind the drink bar. We also finalized the many additional contracting details involved in completing the look and bringing it all together.

The renovations then continued to the basement stairs, which our team updated from carpet to LVP.

In the basement, we replaced the damaged ceiling and drywall in the basement kitchen area. We also made similar water damage repairs in the basement garage. We installed LVP throughout the entire basement, updated the lighting, painted, and added trim. We also installed tile flooring in the laundry room and powder room (not pictured). Finally, we again worked with the same contractors to install the second kitchen in the basement.

This was a great team effort that produced beautiful spaces ready for the family and friends that call it home!
