What started as a crisis became one of the most remarkable conservation stories in recent memory — and NGS was proud to be part of it.

McCormick Place's Lakeside Center in Chicago sits along one of North America's busiest migratory bird corridors. For years, thousands of birds died annually colliding with its massive glass façade. Then in October 2023, nearly 1,000 birds were found dead in a single overnight event.

The response was decisive. In summer 2024, NGS installed Feather Friendly® bird-collision deterrent markers across nearly 120,000 square feet of glass — one of the largest bird-safe retrofits ever completed.
