Last call, Gilmer County — this is the final weekend of the 55th Georgia Apple Festival. Today and tomorrow are your last chances to catch it at the Ellijay Lions Club Fairgrounds before it wraps up for the year on Sunday at 5pm. More than 250 vendors, handmade crafts, live music, festival food, and plenty of apple treats. Downtown, the Apple Arts Festival runs the same days with free admission — and your dog is welcome to come along.

On a site like this one, a ready-mix truck can’t always back up close enough to the forms, and that’s where the pump truck comes in. The mixer unloads into the pump’s hopper, and the pump pushes the concrete through a long, folding boom that reaches right over the slab. The crew can place concrete exactly where it’s needed without dragging chutes or running wheelbarrows across the rebar and v***r barrier.

The result is a faster, cleaner, more consistent pour, and that matters when you’re building the foundation of a home meant to last for generations.
