Next week marks the beginning of an exciting custom home shell build in North Fort Myers!

These clients are DIY-minded and have chosen to take a hands-on approach to building their home. They partnered with Hughes Quality Homes during the design phase, where we helped develop their plans and get everything ready for permitting.

Now that permitting is complete, we’re stepping in to build the home’s shell and handle the MEPs (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing). Once that phase is complete, the homeowners will take over and bring their vision to life with the interior finishes.

At Hughes Quality Homes, we believe in building for our community and our neighbors. While we’d love the opportunity to build your entire home from start to finish, we understand that every homeowner has a different vision, budget, and level of involvement.

Emmanuel – God Is With Us

One of the beautiful names of Jesus is Emmanuel, meaning “God is with us.”

“And they shall name him Emmanuel, which means ‘God is with us.’” – Matthew 1:23

Think about how incredible that is! The Creator of the universe didn’t choose to remain distant from His creation. He came near. He chose to dwell among us, to walk alongside us, and to experience life as we do.

Emmanuel doesn’t mean Jesus simply visits us or comes and goes as He pleases. It means His presence is constant. He is not just with us in certain moments or seasons, but through every part of our lives.

“Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” – Hebrews 13:5

He is the Lord of your past, the Lord of your present, and the Lord of your future.

Emmanuel is more than just a name. It is a reminder of how deeply God loves us. He loved us enough to come near, to make a way for us to know Him, and to promise that we would never have to walk through life without Him.

Whatever you are facing today, find peace in knowing that you never have to walk through it alone. Through the joys, the struggles, and the uncertainties. What a beautiful gift it is to know that our God is not distant, but present. He is Emmanuel, God with us.

Yahweh Chesed – God of Loyal Love

The Hebrew word chesed describes God’s faithful, steadfast, and unfailing love. It is not a love based on feelings or circumstances, but a love rooted in His unchanging character.

Even when the Israelites broke their covenant with God, His love remained faithful. In Exodus 34:6, God describes Himself as compassionate, gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in love and faithfulness.

God’s love for us is the same today. He is patient when we fall short, merciful when we don’t deserve it, and gracious in giving us opportunities to turn back to Him.

His love is not something we have to earn, nor is it something that disappears when we stumble. His faithfulness is greater than our failures.

Whatever you are facing today, lean on Yahweh Chesed. Rest in the assurance that His love is not dependent on your circumstances or your ability to get everything right. His love is steadfast, His mercy is abundant, and His faithfulness never changes.

“Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken.” — Isaiah 54:10

74 days under construction!!! 🚨🚨💪🏻👷🏼‍♂️
Footer dig July 21st 2026- Final inspections passed Oct 2nd 2026.

There’s a common misconception that when construction moves quickly, corners must have been cut—but that’s not how we build. This home was completed in just 74 days through intentional scheduling, efficient ex*****on, having the right subcontractors in place, and most importantly, allowing God to lead the project from start to finish. When you put God at the center, have a clear plan, and surround yourself with the right team, efficiency doesn’t compromise quality—it enhances it.

At Hughes Quality Homes we intend on breaking down some stereotypes about building in SWFL.

Yatsar- The Creator

When God looks at you, He sees His workmanship (Ephesians 2:10). He sees the beauty He intentionally created.

Of all the people in the world, there is no one else exactly like you. You are distinct to Him.

“God made you uniquely. Don’t ever trade that for the compromise of comparison.” — Lisa Bevere

Yatsar wants you to see yourself the same way He sees you. He sees you, loves you, and values you, even when
- you feel like you failed Him
- You are stressed or worried
- You are anxious or afraid
- You feel like you don’t live up to expectations
- When life feels like it’s just too much

Your circumstances do not change who He created you to be.

Remember:
You are a child of God. (John 1:12)
You are accepted. (Romans 15:7)
You are chosen. (1 Thessalonians 1:4)
You are free. (Galatians 5:1)

You don’t have to compare yourself to anyone else. You don’t have to become someone different to be worthy of His love.

“I praise you because I am fearfully wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” (Psalm 139:14)

Couple days late posting this one- 🤦🏼‍♂️

Sabbath= freedom not just a day!

“By the seventh day God completed His work that He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work that He had done.” Genesis 2:2

God didn’t finish creation on the sixth day. He finished it on the seventh; by giving us rest.

Rest is necessary. In fact, rest was the final assignment of creation. Without it, the universe was incomplete.

God always intended the Sabbath to be more than a day on a calendar. It is a lifestyle, an attitude, and a process for living that teaches us how to govern our lives and steer clear of bo***ge.

He didn’t give us freedom from sin so that we could become enslaved to the very things He intended to be gifts to us.

“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” Galatians 5:1

Left to our own devices, we will always be tempted to overdo. To work more. Accomplish more. Buy more. Do more. Chase more.

That’s why God gives us boundaries. Just like a loving parent gives boundaries to a child, God gives us boundaries because He loves us. His boundaries aren’t meant to restrict our freedom, they are meant to protect it.

We have many resources, but only one Source.

We need breathing room. We need space to stop striving, remember where everything comes from, and return our attention to the One who provides it all.

So think about it:

Has anything become more important to you than it should be?

What has taken up so much space in your life that you’ve forgotten to rest?

Why are you afraid to slow down when the Source Himself showed us that rest is necessary?

Maybe Sabbath isn’t about what you’re giving up.
Maybe it’s about what you’re finally free to receive.
