The Cube | Los Gatos, CA

Designed for full views while maintaining privacy, the floor to ceiling windows of this ADU face away from the main home and towards to forest that surrounds the property. The back of this guest home, absent of windows, serves as an art piece to be enjoyed from the courtyard shared with the main home. The piece - made of corten steel and illuminated acrylic bars - is an abstract pattern meant to mimic the layers of a nearly redwood grove.

Given its forested setting, The Cube was designed with fire resilience in mind, utilizing non-combustible materials that exceed WUI guidelines.

Natural Bridges | Santa Cruz, CA

Set along Santa Cruz’s West Cliff, the home was designed to blend quietly into its surroundings while expressing a clean, contemporary aesthetic.

Given its proximity to the ocean, it is built to withstand harsh winds and salty spray from a nearby blowhole. Sustainable design meant retaining more than 50% of the existing structure, along with careful consideration of window placement, shading, and material choices to improve insulation and minimize solar heat gain.

This home blurs the line between indoors and out—welcoming warmth and ocean breezes when desired, while offering protection from harsher coastal conditions without losing connection to the views.

Boulder Condo | Boulder, CO

While the home focuses on connection, the theater is designed as a place to retreat. Dark, quiet, and immersive, it is a space for relaxing and gathering around film. The room carries through the same material palette of walnut and dark, textured finishes, with a focus on geometry and rhythm. Integrated linear lighting within walnut slats and a movable bar add subtle function and detail.

Plover | Watsonville, CA

Originally designed in 1968 by AIA architect George Coty, the Plover House stood out for its unconventional geometry: a distinctive pyramid-like roof and full cedar-shingle cladding that wrapped the roof, walls, and even the home’s interior. While the home’s unique shape and footprint remain largely intact, the transformation focused on opening the structure to its setting. We enlarged openings, introduced a picture window at the rear of the house, and removed interior barriers to frame sweeping views of the coastline. The exterior was darkened to create contrast with the grass-covered dunes and draw focus to the entry sequence.

Rana Estate | Carmel Valley, CA

The color palette, inspired by the surrounding valley, brings warmth and depth into the home. Stone and warm wood tones echo the landscape, while open floating shelves and a bar-height countertop enhance the connection between the kitchen, dining, and living areas, creating a natural sense of flow throughout the space.
