This retaining wall is officially complete! It was quite the transformation from the old wall it replaced!
In this project, we excavated 25 tons of clay and poor soil and hauled in roughly 24 tons of 2b. The wall was around 185 blocks and 60 caps. We built it proper, with the first course fully embedded on a stone footer. We dug back the hill behind the wall to the height of the wall, compacted everything, and installed Geofabric and drain pipes behind the wall to catch any water that ends up in the drain zone. We installed biaxial geogrid with every two layers. We cut and glued the caps in place and installed rubber mulch in front and behind the wall. We finished up with remediating damaged lawn areas with quality topsoil and seed and straw.
Our clients are thrilled with the project and the finished result that will last a long time! If you are interested in a similar project, please reach out at (717) 660-1296! We are currently booking hardscape projects for July and August!
