After working long hours, a lot of effort, hard work and education; there is something going on in my trade that just isn't right for those of us that took the hard road and endure the actual costs to run a legit business. No matter who you choose to do your electrical work, yes Orth Electric would love to earn your business, but there is the elephant in the trade to comes up from time to time that just has to be exposed from time to time. These posers come and go often, especially during busy times of the year. If you are hiring an an electrician in the state of Ohio, you can go to the OCILB and check to see if they are posers trying to make a quick buck or someone with an actual license. When times are busy, everyone is an electrician and man have we fixed their messes. Do yourself a favor and always ask for their Ohio Masters License number. You can check it on the OCILB and see if it is active or even factual. Any business card, invoice, vehicle or advertisement must have their Ohio Masters License on any of that I listed. There are too many people that pose as electricians but yet don"t have any education, licensing, bonding or insurance. For those of us that have served our time, worked hard to get our license, its hard to watch these posers pop up. They come and go but know you can report them directly to the OCILB and check their credentials immediately. If they say they have a license but the company name or their name or their EL license doesn't come up on the OCILB as ACTIVE in renewal, they are not licensed in the state of Ohio. Would you take a plane ride from someone with no license, would you go to a dr without a license, would you take a cab without someone having a license, why would you hire an electrian with no license? I have to give props to the stae of Florida because they have an app you can report these posers and they go to court and even jail. They protect their Floridians, I hope Ohio will someday follow suit. For now, ALWAYS ASK FOR THEIR LICENSE NUMBER and either call the OCILB directly or go online to the OCILB to see if they are legit, or posing to make a quick buck.

Customer calls for a range circuit. Only big problem …. They have a Federal Pacific fire hazard panel. We do not alter or add to any Federal Pacific panel, we only replace them. Google it and if you have one, call on Orth Electric to replace it. Especially if you are soon to sell your home and before your home owners insurance agent finds out you have one and gives you 30 days to change it.

Updated 100 amp main service replacement with a recessed panel in the living room. No wall repair needed is the best feeling upon completion.

Main service panel had a bad main breaker that’s not replaceable. Recessed panel replacements can be tricky but rewarding when you finish and there is no drywall repair work to be done.

Another Federal Pacific fire hazard being torn out and replaced with a Square D panel. Ironically enough, some burnt buss work and a 15 amp breaker that didn’t trip when shorted out against the panel.

All too common unfortunately. Client has “ sparking issue in their main service panel “ Flir lit up like a forest fire on the left leg.
