It is with great sadness that I announce we have shut our doors at Watkins Landmark Construction. While this has been an incredibly heart wrenching decision, all I can do is to express my gratitude to everybody involved in our 18 years of existence. In the end, I am left with a deep appreciation for everybody who has supported us over the years. Thank you.

We are thrilled to be the selected General Contractor for the Bethel AME Housing project in Logan Heights. This could very well be the first YIGBY approved complex in San Diego! YIGBY plans to tear down a two-unit duplex and build a 26-unit complex in its place. The new development would be 100% affordable and apartments would be reserved exclusively for veterans and seniors.

The attached article details a bill, SB 4, that would allow religious groups and other nonprofits in California to build affordable housing. Pastor Harvey Vaughn’s church plans to break ground in March and have people moving in by December.

SB4 could be the beginning of something beautiful in the community and we’re here to build all of it.

How about some good news!

Please join us in congratulating our very own Matthew Dolan on his promotion to Project Executive!

Matt has paced his career as a consummate professional and has never shied away from the next challenge. He joined The Watkins Landmark Family as a Project Engineer in 2013 and was quickly promoted to Senior Project Manager between 2014-2017 and has never looked back.

Matt has proven himself worthy of managing Watkins Landmark high profile projects such as, Indian Wells Tennis Garden, Hotel del Coronado improvements, and most recently, the San Diego Sockers Frontwave Credit Union Arena for Sudberry Properties, Inc. in Oceanside.

His ability to manage multiple projects has allowed him to oversee projects concurrently and has always taken the time to prioritize the Watkins Landmark Values of Pride, Trustworthy, Personable and Persistence.

We count it a privilege to call you our colleague Matt….We are all glad to be on the same team!
