Let me be honest with you. You can spend $49 on a so called tune-up for your air conditioner and receive an up-charge bill to add refrigerant and maybe clean the condenser or you can call AfterHours Refrigeration and receive a complete system cleaning for $475.

We offer a full system cleaning to improve your air flow across the coils, whereas others may shoot a little refrigerant into the system creating a higher head pressure to bring your superheat down across a dirty evaporator coil.

Our cleaning take about 4 hours and includes a complete pull and clean of your evaporator coil and blower system, with pumping down or recovery of your refrigerant.

It includes a chemical cleaning of the outside condenser and properly checking the air flow before and after the cleaning.

We will give you a price before adding any necessary refrigerant to make your unit as efficient as the first day the system was installed.

Please understand there are several factors of installing a mini split be that it is a $700 system or a $1800 system.

It take 4-6 hours to install a single zone unit not to mention the electrical to power it including a surge protector that we highly recommend.

On the other issues that can run up the cost is if you want the line set in a cover or if a wall bracket is needed for the condenser to secure it.

So when we quote you a price it typically includes the unspeakable items needed that we would recommend on an install we would do for ourselves.

So consider this when we or others give you a quote for an install. Ask them how you can reduce the cost if you need a less expensive install.

Remember there are also so many options on units and manufacturers like the SEER ratings, tonnage including if it heats and cools one or five zones.

The following is an estimate for extras.

Markup of unit 30%

This is your last opportunity to get a R410 system replaced prior to January 2025.

EPA regulations require all manufacturers to quit selling these units and manufacture only R32 and R454 refrigerant units.

At present manufacturers supply is limited on all units both with old and new refrigerant.
