Here are some helpful tips to survive the cold.
1. Make sure all hoses are disconnected from the hose faucet. If you. An, shut the hose faucet off at the shut off valve.
2. If you have a faucet or bathroom on an outside wall: leave your faucets dripping (cold water), open up cabinet doors, and keep your temp above 60 degrees in your house.
If you run into frozen pipes here are some things to do.
1. Open up cabinet doors
2. Turn up the heat
3. Put a space heater in the room (WARNING: this is only when you are home and can keep an eye on the space heater. Do not leave it on while away, do not plug it into an extension cord)
4. Most importantly, know wheee your whole house shut off valve is. This will be helpful incase there is a leak and you need to shut water off.
