Built to display a collection worthy of the wood.

We made this custom sword stand several years ago for a local client using highly figured maple. The sweeping top rail follows the curve of the swords, while the individual supports were shaped to hold each piece securely and give the entire display a balanced profile.

We previously shared this stand before it reached its home, but seeing it with the collection in place completes the picture. The movement and character in this maple still catch our attention every time we see it.

Custom pieces like this are some of our favorite projects because they begin with something meaningful to the client and are designed entirely around it.

A custom 40” x 40” red oak card table, designed for evenings of mahjong on the Santa Barbara Riviera. The top is a mosaic of oak pieces, each cut at a different angle and fitted together within a clean border — a surface that shifts and plays with the light.

The base is crafted from solid red oak and metal plate, with legs set on a gentle angle that rise into a sculptural, pyramid-like form. Placed in a home overlooking Santa Barbara and the Pacific, this table is as much about gathering as it is about design — a piece built for both beauty and use.

This custom live edge black walnut coffee table features three hand-cut maple bow tie joints — each inlaid to stabilize natural cracks in the slab and prevent further movement. The joints were custom-made for this piece, mirroring the clean geometry of the solid maple base below.
