SUNDAY SPOTLIGHT ✨ This residential project in University Park, Dallas, Texas shows an exceptional example of cohesively combining the house with the multiple features of this project.

This property uses a smart irrigation controller and water conservation system, alongside all LED lighting for the pool and landscape areas. You can see the lighting system throughout the space that adds a captivating touch to the ambiance at night! Perfect for a late-night get-together or relaxing swim.

Let’s not forget to highlight what sets this project apart from the others, the 8’ tall water feature wall with beautiful blue mosaic tile, the rain curtain coming off the house, as well as a highly engineered structure with a custom water slide and diving deck. We worked hard to make sure that all these unique features would come together to create a space our client would love and be proud of.

SUNDAY SPOTLIGHT ✨ Located in Preston Hollow, the Surrey Oaks project showcases how thoughtful design, precise engineering, and refined craftsmanship can shape an exceptional outdoor environment. Designed by The Garden Design Studio (The Garden Design Studio), built by Milan Custom Build (Milan Custom Build), and envisioned by SmithArc (smitharc), the project highlights AquaTerra Outdoors’ ability to construct a complex, high-elevation space that complements the home’s modern architecture.

With significant elevation changes—rare for Dallas—the design embraces the natural topography. The elevated entry creates a dramatic approach, while the basement-level glass atrium brings light into the home and connects it to the landscape. Massive stone blocks and a flowing creek nod to the site’s original cliffside terrain.

At the center is a 54-by-17-foot perimeter overflow pool, the defining feature mirroring the home’s architectural lines. Water spills over all edges, creating a reflective surface enhanced by a dark finish. Beneath it, grade beams, void boxes, and bedrock-set piers ensure long-term stability. Retaining walls, supported by deep footers and piers, reinforce the slope while adding structure and depth.

The result is a dynamic, modern retreat—an elevated outdoor living space that blends engineering precision with thoughtful, sophisticated design.

SUNDAY SPOTLIGHT ✨ Designed by Randy Angell Designs and built by AquaTerra Outdoors, this project transformed a blank-slate backyard into a breathtaking resort-inspired outdoor living and entertainment haven tailored for a growing young family. The vision was to create an inviting space with zones for relaxation, play, and social gatherings, all centered around a stunning infinity-edge pool and spa elevated three feet above the home’s patio level—a unique challenge that required meticulous planning to safeguard the home against any potential flooding.

The design highlights include a striking 24-foot-long, 7-foot-tall water wall that captivates visitors from the moment they step through the front door. The sports zone on the property’s east side features a multi-purpose sports court and ample space for activities like co****le and ping pong, making it a perfect space for family fun.

At the heart of the backyard is a sunken, covered cabana, seamlessly blending leisure and function. This space boasts a swim-up bar on the poolside and a counter facing the sports court, multiple TVs, refrigerators, and plenty of storage for effortless entertaining. High-quality materials and thoughtful design details harmonize to deliver a luxurious yet practical outdoor retreat for family and friends alike.

Rather than overwhelming the property with expansive hardscape, we intentionally minimized concrete and allowed the landscape to become one of the home’s defining features.
