Most well-known for his work with public transportation in the post-Civil War era, Granville Tailer Woods was an African-American inventor who held more than 50 patents. His automatic safety circuit was integrated into commercially manufactured panels in 1904. Today, his concept for the self-interrupting breaker is the basis for every electrical system from automobiles to skyscrapers.

We had an awesome group of ladies come out tonight for this fun event! They learned some escapes, boxing skills, kicks, takedowns, and ground escapes. At the end they even had the chance to test their skills in a multiple attacker game. So much fun! Thank you all for coming out and thank you to our friends at the Boys and Girls Club for bringing out your girls too. They did great! Looking forward to our next one tentatively May 12th.
