I had the opportunity to go down to Belize to build a small “cabana” for local pastors. I went with my father in laws ministry to help a local ministry down there. They weren’t able to get all the windows or the door but we framed up everything with the supplies they could actually get. When we showed up they only had the floor for the building poured. We mixed up the concrete by hand and poured the concrete for the porch and framed up the structure.

Photo of a little tile job I did for our church. It’s always a blessing to serve the church in what ways I can. I had some left over tile from when I tiled our kennel and figured might as well put it to a good use. I wanted to put a boarder around the room just to make it look a little cooler than just straight tile.

Some pics of a house we finished up siding. I remembered to get a before picture this time but I wouldn’t hold your breath for the next project. I just want to thank everyone for your support. It’s greatly appreciated.

Howdy yall. Here’s some pictures of a kitchen and pantry we did over the winter. The pantry bumped into the stairs going to the basement so we couldn’t build a drawer at the bottom so we ended up making a potato drawer that hinged open. We made it a friction stop drawer so when its loaded up it wouldn’t smack the trim off when it opened. Getting that radius figured out was quite the task but it came out pretty slick.

I finally remembered to get some before pictures of the kitchen. The pantry on the other hand I totally forgot to get some before pics. I had to show off the base molding and how tight the cuts are on the doors and corners of the pantry. We also ran a small trim along the bottom of the new counters because of the amount of shims they needed to install the counter. (We didn’t do the countertop)

We built a pretty cool entertainment center for some pretty cool clients. She gave me an idea for what they were looking for and let me run with it. We actually framed this into the wall so that it wasn’t sticking out and killing space in the room. We ended up moving one of the outlets we were covering up from insetting it for the tv and put it high enough so you couldn’t see the cords when it’s plugged in. It’s hard to tell the size from the pictures but this thing is over 12 feet long and eight feet tall. I like these kinds of projects because it forces me to be precise with every measurement. I’m not a big fan of building drawer faces because I’m just not good at it, but I’m always up for a challenge. The homeowner did the finish on it which is a really dark stain which turned out way better than I could have imagined. This is why I don’t like picking colors out because I just don’t know how to do it well.

Hey there guys and gals. It’s been too long since I’ve posted. We have been super busy trying to keep up with everything. I’m super grateful for all the work we have and I just wanted to thank everyone for your support.

I’ll try and keep up with the posts but I’ve got a ton of pics from the jobs we’ve done over the winter and spring. So here’s a little bathroom we did over the winter for an awesome couple. I had to make a custom vanity for a makeup station. The glass doors are always scary to set cause though the glass is very strong for impact, it does not like to flex. I’ve always hated to put them in cause one wrong move and it shatters. I may or may not know this from experience. Also sorry for the bad pictures. The guy who always took the good pics started working on his own so now yall are left with my crappy picture taking.

We finished the bookshelf and we are super happy with the way it turned out. The home owner couldn’t be happier now that she has a spot to sit and read her books. I told her we need photos after the shelves are stocked. We also trimmed out a small door she has for her storage space. Not very hard to do but really made a difference from what was there. As usual I didn’t take a before picture of it sadly.

It was a really fun project with some very precise measurements. We were so close to rubbing the ceiling with it but she fit like a charm. I ended up making my own crown molding cause we didn’t want something too thick up top to take away shelf space. We also did a fancy heat register because the normal ones would have made the whole thing look like trash.

I finally finished the upstairs bathroom at our house. My poor wife is so patient with me. I finished 95% of it about 5 months ago and didn’t have the trim to complete it. After getting sick of looking at the trim I finally put it up. It’s funny how those final details can make the room.

There was an old cast iron tub in there that I had to carry down by myself. Wasn’t a big fan of that since our stairs are so closed in so I cut it in half. Then I got the new tub and I framed up the arch. My wife did the wall paper and she did a pretty good job for never doing wall paper before. The ceiling we went with a cool look, I tinted plaster and troweled it on. Gretta was there to help with that cause she’s the one with vision of making things look nice. I was just willing to figure it out and fix it if I screwed it up. We did two coats and tinted one coat slightly lighter than the other to give it some depth. I thought it turned out really cool.

Since the weather has been so nasty we decided to do some inside work. We are building a book shelf with a reading nook in front of the window.

We have the reading nook built with two drawers built. Also we have two open shelves built but have to trim them out. I’m hoping to get the actual book shelves built and get the faces built. After that comes a nice coat of green paint and the install.

It was my first attempt at making a diamond like that and I’m super happy with how it turned out.
