Today Jimmy traded concrete work for a school field trip with Amery. They explored the children’s museum, checked out the view from Grandad Bluff, played at the park, and even snuck in some ice cream from Pasture Pride Cheese Retail Store on the way home.

One of the blessings of owning a small business is occasionally being able to step away and make memories like this… especially when it’s 90° outside and the concrete can survive one day without him. 😅

We resealed our stamped front patio this weekend and I swear it makes it look almost as good as the day it was poured. ✨

Kind of crazy to think this was one of Jimmy’s very first stamped concrete jobs over 10 years ago with the help of our friend Gabe. It’s held up so well over the years and it’s fun seeing the color and detail come back to life again after sealing it.

Makes us appreciate good concrete work even more. 🤎

Tonight Jimmy had the chance to meet James at Hydromechanical Wizards LLC - Hydraulic Cylinder Repair and check out the shop.

They specialize in hydraulic cylinder repair, custom fabrication, and precision machining for industrial, agricultural, and mobile hydraulic equipment.

In simple terms, when something hydraulic breaks on your skid loader, excavator, tractor, or fleet equipment… these are the guys who can repair, rebuild, or machine what others might tell you needs to be replaced or will have a long wait tjme.

They’re also fully insured to work on lifts that people operate from, which is a big deal when it comes to safety and liability.

We are saddened by the passing of Mitchell, who worked with our summer crew last year.

He will be remembered, and we are grateful for the time he spent with us.

This winter, Jimmy has been making trips up north helping close friends bring their cabin back to life after it was completely gutted due to flooding and freezing damage.

What started with leveling a cracked, uneven concrete floor turned into much more.

Over the past few months, he’s helped install the tongue-and-groove woodwork on the walls and ceilings, cabinets, trim, and this week he’s been tiling the entryways. Next up is installing the rest of the flooring to tie everything together.

Concrete is his specialty, but craftsmanship, problem-solving, and pride in the finished product carry through everything he does.

There’s even been a little fishing mixed in. My dad and nephew both had great luck on the lake. Jimmy hasn’t had quite as much time to fish, but he’s definitely enjoyed the meals that came from it!

It’s been incredible watching this place transform from a gutted shell into a warm, welcoming cabin again. I can’t wait to see it myself after so much work has been done.

Proud of the work he does and the care he puts into helping others build, and rebuild, spaces that matter.
