Unfortunately, our vans tires decided that they were done and the lug nuts broke during the change so I am without a functional vehicle. Huge thank you to each one of my customers that have been reaching out online during the off season. This year I have had to cut back on farmers markets to be more present with my kids. As most of you know, the funds I make from our homestead go back into caring for the micro-farm and our kids education. The pick ups really help and mean the world to us.

We are working on a farm stand right now and hope to have an addition of pies, chocolate goodies, and veggies this year.

For mother's Day my sons gave me a gift of the special ball jars for the 250 year anniversary. Aren't they adorable? ⭐

We got a special delivery today 🥰
51 little meat birds and 1 mystery bird. I have no idea what that brown one is, but I am calling her snuggles for now. It's dangerous to name baby chicks. The named ones seem to not make it. I'll be getting the main coop ready for them tomorrow but over the weekend, they will be in the house, to make sure they make it through this weather.

The chickens are finally starting to get back to work! 🐓🥚

After the slow winter months, we’re beginning to see eggs coming in again, and one of the girls surprised us with a beautiful olive green egg today! I am hoping that one of our girls starts laying her pretty blue egg again soon. That one is my favorite but this green might be taking second place.

Production is still a little slow as the flock gets back into its rhythm, but we’re hoping by the end of the month to have enough to start selling eggs again.

I’ll keep everyone posted as the girls keep laying!

I have given up trying to figure out which weather update is correct, if a groundhog's prediction is accurate, or which cycle of winter we are on. What I do trust is my chickens ability to know spring is coming or winter is staying. They won't lay unless the spring is coming... I'm sure we will have a little more winter because there are only three eggs but spring is right around the corner!
