We're keeping our eyes on the cold front approaching this weekend! Make sure you have any cold weather prep done before Thursday night:
– If you've already activated your sprinklers, be sure to drain the backflow to try and avoid any frozen pipes between now and Sunday.
– Cover plants with sensitive new growth.
– All plants do better with water prior to a hard freeze, so be sure to give your landscaping a good drink on Thursday!

Hot take: Your lawn doesn’t just need more water right now, it also needs a better start to the season. Most homeowners wait until the sprinklers turn on to think about their yard. But by then, you’re already playing catch-up. Right now, while the grass is just starting to wake up, is when you set the tone for the entire season. Here are a few quick tips to ensure your yard looks its best this year:
1: Open up the soil via aeration. This loosens compacted soil, allows water and nutrients to reach deeper into the root zone, and removes buildup that blocks growth. If the soil can’t breathe, nothing else you do will matter as much.
2. Start feeding the soil, not just the grass. High-quality fertilizer is huge, but you can also mulch with your grass clippings and top dress with organic compost. Getting nutrients into the soil early is what builds a thicker, healthier lawn over time.
3. Don’t overwater, but don’t ignore watering either. During this dry spell, a deep hose watering goes a long way. The goal here is to support early root growth.
