Today, I’m diving into the Ventilation edition of the Austin Highlands Project! 🌬️ This is where art meets engineering, and every piece counts. As tradesman especially supervisors, we can’t just say, "That’s not my job." We must own our roles and step up! 💪

I messed up the loading order with my installers, and now I’m feeling the pinch. This highlights the critical need for collaboration between designers, auditors and installers in Home Performance. Today, I had to put on my electrician hat and adapt! ⚡️

These are some of the pitfalls we face in Home Performance, especially when the designer and installers collide. In the HVAC world, versatility is key; we wear many hats to ensure success. Join me on this journey and let’s keep pushing for excellence! 🚀

Last week was nothing short of intense as we dove into our home performance project! 🚀 We removed all the old insulation and redefined the attic with open-cell spray foam. After thorough testing, we're thrilled to report that our envelope leakage is now significantly improved! 🙌 A massive shoutout to my amazing team—especially Emmanuel and Julio—for their hard work and dedication. 🌟 We're thrilled to share the incredible journey we had . The pressure was on as they welcomed a new baby into a home suffering from biological growth issues and comfort issues. They found me through A Inspector and I was competing against three other bids, two of which were from a rebate program. The challenge was this do they do the same thing they did 10 years ago and have the same results but rebates. Or they do a different direction with testing first.

Instead of focusing solely on rebates, my strategy involved viewing their home as a system. It was essential to align with their goals and recognize that this project would require multiple puzzle pieces to achieve the desired outcome.

This house needed a comprehensive home performance approach—not just to address air leakage problems, but to create a healthier environment and reduce allergens. This was not a quick fix; it was meant for serious clients who wanted to develop a plan based on data accountability rather than blind trust. With years of experience, countless hours of training, I guided them through each step of the process. Even with all my training, there always has to be adjustments. This is my six month follow up. Even though we always shoot for the best of the six month follow up is the true test. We all have to be real to each other. Even though we tried our best there's always room for improvements and enhancements. Figure out why things worked or didn't work. Also figure out how to make your process better.
