💎 Cabinet Reface + Functional Upgrade = One Massive Transformation 💎

This project was about more than just changing the color—we completely modernized the kitchen while improving storage and functionality.

✔️ Replaced crown molding
✔️ Re-skinned exposed side panels
✔️ Stripped and refined the existing cabinet boxes
✔️ Filled the oak grain for a smooth, furniture-grade finish
✔️ Installed oversized bevel shaker doors and drawer fronts
✔️ Converted 3 standard door/drawer cabinets into 3-drawer soft-close storage systems for better organization and accessibility
✔️ Added UV-finished Blum soft-close drawers and soft-close hinges throughout
✔️ Finished everything in Sherwin-Williams Tricorn Black using Centurion 400 Series for a durable factory-like finish
✔️ Installed new hardware to tie it all together

The biggest upgrade? The additional drawer storage. Sometimes the best renovations aren’t just what you see—they’re the improvements you use every single day.

What do you think made the biggest difference:
1️⃣ The Tricorn Black finish
2️⃣ The oversized shaker doors
3️⃣ The added drawer storage
4️⃣ The new hardware

Our new website is finally live.

The old site got the job done, but it never really felt like us. It was outdated, generic, and didn’t do a great job of showing our personality or the level of work we strive for.

This new version is a much better reflection of who we are as a company. There’s still plenty we want to add, more content, more project photos, and more of the people behind the business, but we’re excited about the direction it’s heading.

We’d love any feedback, suggestions, or ideas as we continue improving it. For now, we’re just glad to have a website that feels more like us.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support Capital Painting.

Years of experience help us build the right systems, processes, and standards on every job. But at the end of the day, we’re still human, and human error can happen.

We don’t promise perfection.
We promise accountability.

If something needs attention, we handle it. We make it right, and we’re always willing to go the extra mile for our clients.

That’s the difference between just doing the work and actually standing behind it.

That’s what real professionalism looks like, not pretending mistakes never happen, but standing behind the work when they do.

One thing I’ve learned in this business…

Price pressure is normal.

Every homeowner should ask questions.
Every homeowner should compare options.

But there’s a difference between comparing value and racing to the bottom.

In construction, the price usually reflects three things:

• The preparation
• The materials and systems used
• The time allowed to do it correctly

When those get compressed, the price drops.

And when the price drops too far, something else has to give.

Sometimes it’s prep.
Sometimes it’s durability.
Sometimes it’s the contractor standing behind the work later.

We’re always happy to explain how we price projects.

Because the goal isn’t to be the cheapest option.

The goal is to be the one that holds up

This was Fun! White ceilings make a difference.

But what really pulls a space together is the baseboards.

We refreshed the ceilings, updated the foyer, kitchen, and living room walls, and finished it off with clean trim work.

Nothing flashy. Just done right.

Everyone focuses on skill.

What roller.
What sprayer.
What paint.
How straight the line is.

All that matters.

But you know what homeowners notice immediately?

Cleanliness.

Covered floors.
Organized tools.
No dust left behind.
No trash in the driveway.

I’ve seen highly skilled tradesmen lose trust because they were messy.

And I’ve seen average work feel premium because the process was clean and controlled.

Being clean in a trade is one of the most overlooked separators.

It shows discipline.
It shows respect.
It shows you care about the home — not just the invoice.

Sometimes the “wow factor” isn’t the tool.

It’s the standard.

Every time we put our sign in a yard, I think about this…

Someone trusted us with their house.

Not just a color.
Not just “a paint job.”
Their actual home.

There are a lot of painters out there. A lot of prices. A lot of promises.

At the end of the day, people hire who they feel comfortable with.

So yeah — the sign is marketing.

But it’s also a reminder that someone trusted us enough to put our name in front of their neighbors.

And that’s something I don’t take lightly!

Hiring someone you trust is important.

Hiring someone who understands the technical side is critical.

We’ve walked into jobs where things were sold confidently,
but the system behind it wasn’t thought through.

Paint systems aren’t guesses.
Prep isn’t optional.
Sequencing matters.

When technical knowledge is missing,
either the client absorbs the result
or the company absorbs the loss.

Neither is ideal.

Trust builds relationships.
Technical understanding protects them!

Before ➝ inspo ➝ after… and yes, it’s the same kitchen.

We upgraded these cabinets by:
✔️ Refacing
✔️ Modifying face frames
✔️ Adding soft-close
✔️ Installing new hardware

If your boxes are good, there’s no reason to rip everything out.
Comment “CABINETS” if you’re thinking about upgrading yours.
