Working late. Trying to stick to a schedule that doesn't want to be stuck to.

I wish all my customers were as cool as Don and Diane.

We had a great conversation, I helped them negotiate and navigate through their insurance papers.

Told them about some ideas I had to help their second story house (cool the upstairs off in the summertime and reverse the temperatures in the winter time)

If weather permits we're going to start their job on Monday.

About Me: A Tribute to the Man Who Taught Me Everything

I got my start in the roofing business for one simple reason:
I wanted to spend as much time as possible with an exceptional man—my dad.

I’ll never forget the first time he introduced me as his right-hand man. That moment meant the world to me. He taught me all aspects of the roofing business from the removal and replacement of the roof, all the way into sales, management, and office/clerical. We ran the business together, vacationed together, sailed his boat together, and flew his plane across countless miles of the U.S. Ken Blake wasn’t just my father—he was my business partner, my teacher, and my friend.

He passed away two years ago. And even though he’d retired years before, he still loved riding along with me on jobs… offering “advice” from the passenger seat and telling me how to drive. 😬 Truth is, I think a lot of our customers chose us not just for the roofing—but because they liked working with a father-and-son team that truly cared.

At the risk of sounding a little odd, I still talk to him sometimes—like he’s sitting next to me in the truck. Because in a way, he still is. He’s the reason I’m as good as I am at what I do. He was my Obi-Wan Kenobi.

When we meet, I think you’ll notice it right away. I have a way of making people feel comfortable and clearly understanding their needs—skills I learned from the best teacher I ever had.

Another day, another roof!
I love my home town, Austin Texas!

Shout-out to Antonio Adame.( My lead guy?
I have an exceptional crew.
We've been together 27 years.

It's nice having a relationship with the same crew for such a long time.
They know my expectation AND my standard, and I know what they require for me.
They're simple, they just want to be paid as soon as the job is done.
So, done and done😎.

I'm so proud of my roofing crew.
As the owner I like to run my own magnet around to make sure Antonio and the boys are keeping their standards as high as mine.
Antonio has been my crew leader for 19 years now.
I found 1 nail!
I'll take those numbers any day!
