At Modern, Building for the Next Generation® is more than our tagline. We were proud to host students for Iowa's Heavy Sheet Metal Summer Experience and provide a firsthand look at careers in the skilled trades.

Participants built their own can shed box, learned the basics of sheet metal fabrication, and visited the Cedar Crossing Casino & Entertainment Center project to see the trade in action.

As Josh Jensen, Vice President of Cedar Rapids Sheet Metal, shared:

"There's something special about seeing young people take a flat piece of metal and turn it into a finished product with their own hands. It's a great reminder of the skill, craftsmanship, and problem-solving that our industry offers."
