is a professional roof and pavement consulting firm, headquartered in Cedar Rapids, IA. We provide facility managers throughout North America with objective and technically sound roof and pavement consulting services to reduce risk, and maximize service life and performance of your roof and pavement assets. We currently have 17 Registered Roof Observers and 4 Registered Roof Consultants on staff.

In addition, our team includes 4 Professional Engineers with PE licenses in 17 states, and one Certified OSHA Safety Trainer. These professional registrations provide distinction to the industry; they are what set us apart, and enable us to offer our clients the level of expertise and experience they expect in the specialized field of roofing and paving. What a day! 🙌 Benchmark was honored to be part of
United Way of East Central Iowa's Day of Caring last week, joining the effort to give back to our Cedar Rapids community. Our team worked hard clearing out a neighborhood space – hauling away loads of old furniture, mattresses, tires, and more. Four full dumpsters later, we were exhausted but so grateful for the experience.

Julie Hajek was at the Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA) convention this week, and she was sharing something we've seen repeatedly: condensation is costing cold storage operators millions.

Condensation from air infiltration is the #1 cause of roof leaks and structural damage in freezers and processing plants. Infiltration - warm, moist air seeping through unsealed roof transitions, around penetrations, and through mass doorway infiltration. It leads to ice, corrosion, and structural failure.

The fix isn't complicated, but it requires precision: proper air barriers at the right location, continuous seals, and materials that stand up to extreme temperature differentials. Control air infiltration, control condensation.

We're happy to share these insights with the cold chain community. Conferences like these are vital for staying at the forefront of industry trends and strengthening the partnerships that allow us to deliver excellence in every project.
